Hello to all,
this is my first time with mods installed. I installed SOS TDD TS BP and Big world map.
The game up to this point has gone great. I went to the TS island, they took kachiko and now i am in the caves. Specifically I am in the cave with the altars-keys-chests-potions. I can go to the chromatic dragon, but he is unkillable. When I try any other exit the game loads the next area and then crashes. I dot know what to do!!! After studying a bit I think the next area is called TT0305.
Someone please help!!!!

I hope this helps:

I installed SOS TDD TS BP and Big world map.

Um, you did? You just have SOS, BP and the Worldmap according to that log. And I'm not sure, but the Worldmap I think should be installed after all the big mods.

Yeah, I am perplexed too as the OP is definitely doing TS-BP content.

The things I do know are the chromatic dragon is unkillable and is supposed to be. His encounter is only available for the Sime romance. That's that. :D

Now for what I don't know. :P Someone was reporting about some crash and I do not know if this is related or even if there was a solution. I said I would look into it but I was left hanging :(

Let us see if we can find the area first. Please use CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("TT0305") TT0304, TT0303, TT0302, or whichever area you think is crashing. If you can CLUA to the area fine then the travel triggers are busted which should not be happening at all, unless someone has changed the area without my knowing.

If you still get the CtD with CLUA, then something in the area is broken and I will find that and see what changed it or more like broke it.

EDIT: I don't even see any BG2 fixpack (Gibberlings3 version) and sad to say, there will be more bugs of this unexplainable variety so I don't know if I can help.

I have tried to cluaconssole there. the area loads and sometimes i can see my party standing there for 1 second before it crashes.
I read that the world map goes last at installation. After i installed SOS i tried to install TDD. But TDD said it could not install without having the worldmap installed first. So I installed the world map then TDD then TS-BP then BP. Afterwards while I was playing some guy gave me a new map but the city would not be accessible on my map. So I installed the world map again. After that everything was OK.
I am really confused about all this installing and all the fixes and stuff. I am a big fan of this game and I love all this new content that people out of love have created.
I dont have a problem installing again from the beginning. I just hope I can continue with my saves. Its just that I am confused with all the versions of mods and which is compatible with which ect.
At least someone replied to my post. That alone made me happy, thank you so much for your time.

http://www.gibberlin...net/bg2fixpack/ and that goes as your first mod so too late for that now.

But TDD said it could not install without having the worldmap installed first. So I installed the world map then TDD then

I wrote that for TDD 1.14 and it does not say installed, it says EXTRACTED. Big difference there but we don't have to worry about that anymore since I removed the patching if you redownload TDD 1.14 from SHS or TeamBG.

My guess is that TS-BP was uninstalled and then reinstalled at some point. I can't fix something like that as there are too many conflicts going on. Your WEidu log is missing a lot of the mods you say you have installed so I don't know what to say except to start from clean installation of the game + expansion + official patch. Followed by:

1)G3 fixpack (everything or just Corefixes)
2)Whatever megamods here in no specific order:
SOS
TDD
TS-BP
RoT
3)Your tweaks other game fixes, NPC's, small quest mods
4) Worldmap

EDIT: Even better, try looking at or using Big World Project to help get you a good smooth running game.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for answering me.
Just wanted to tell you I found out what to do in another post. I did it and everything is OK.
Here is the post if anyone wants to comment:

<<Nevermind. Finally found the right post about the error and fixed the problem. I changed the animation of GZOMBIE.cre from ic_histachii to ic_mummy and everything works fine. Already had installed TS-BP after TDD and SoS, so that wasn't the cause of the problem.

This post has been edited by Garris: 30 October 2010 - 11:40 AM >>

Anyway, thanks again. I am at spellhold now so we'll see what else comes up.

Thanks for finding that and I remember those animations being mixed up with other mods installed (not with Infinity Animations which fixes these problems). I will change to the default ic_mummy as a standalone fix in the next TS-BP update. That will avoid the issue especially if those animations are missing from the ic_histachii, which might be the core issue here  .

Hello! This is my first time here or even at any forum of any kind. I have no idea what I'm doing but I love Baldur's Gate and have been trying and sometimes succeeding to play the various mods out there. I am currently attempting and failing to play ts-bp. I too am stuck in that same spot. The trouble is I don't know how to change the animation thing. I've never done anything like it. Is it someting that can be taught to me easily? Can someone help?

Izzy,

Download NearInfinity and install it. Then using NearInfinity look for GZOMBIE.cre in the .cre folder and open it. Then see where ic_histachii is and replace it with ic_mummy. then save the file to the override folder. This is over simplified directions, but I hope it will give you enough info to get you on the right track.

This must mean that stock TS-BP animations aren't installing at all or were never there so there are no BAMs for the ic_histachi and therefore we have to change it to a BG2 animation slot. Can't understand this but it makes sense in old installations with CtB, these zombies got the drider animations so it wouldn't crash but the BAMs were definitely not appropriate for TS-BP creatures. Weird.

Well, that was weird. I did the nearinfinity thing. But in the GZOMBIE.cre was ic_mummy, not the other. I didn't know what to do then so I panicked and switched it to ic_histachii to see what would happen. It of course didn't work. So I switched it back to ic_mummy this time saving(copying) the Gzombie.cre thing to the override folder. Now it works, but whenever I run into one of these monsters the following runs accross the dialog box..."I understand that you have traveled quite a bit, Amber. Tell me:are cities the same all over Faurun?" I can live with this so I can finish playing but I'm fairly certain that this is not supposed to happen. And thanks for your help guys.

It sounds like it is more of an installation with the mod creating these problems. Please attach your debug file for TS and I'll take a gander at what weird and wonderful things didn't happen. :)

It looks like everything was OK with the stock animations. You can delete that GZOMBIE guy from the override folder and load up NI and find that file again (it is not in your override) and you can do your edit, just changing the animation.

What happened when you used the file in the mod's folder was that it did not have the correct name or string reference assigned to it and that happens at install time with WeiDU. The game file is in a BIFF so you always have one to fall back on if you make a mistake editing, just always use the one in your game first before pulling the original mod file as that may not have all the data written to it so it could be incomplete. Like you saw here.

For the animations, I don't know what is crashing that guy because the BAMS got copied over according to your debug. Can you post your WEiDU log again cause the one in the original post is causing suspicion.

EDIT:

OK the histachi animations are missing from TS altogether so that would mean installations without CheckTheBodies cause the creatures to crash where with CtB would get wrong BAMs. Also there are no MMUM animations for the animation you said the file currently had.

Change the animation to just ZOMBIE not IC_ZOMBIE as that will be normal SOA version and to make sure you aren't using another slot that is missing BAMS. The person with the fix earlier had other mods so you have to take that into account. I think that will work right just not the Ice Wind Dale animation.

Weird, the stock animations should have been there but that is not 100% sure. Usually it is better to have the megamods (SoS, TDD, TS-BP) shorty after the Fixpack but I don't see anything super wrong with the way you have it, maybe some small incompatibilities but they might be easy to fix or workaround.

I have an update to prepare for TS-BP so I will be doing some standalone installs to try and correct the animation things, and whatever else.

Weird, the stock animations should have been there but that is not 100% sure.

The various megamod animations conflict with each other, and, in some case, with stock animations (see this chart for examples). This is something Infinity Animations solves. There isn't a good solution without it, because there aren't enough animation slots available without IA installed, hence why the megamods conflict. They write different animations to different slots, and even of differing animations schemes, which could likely cause a crash. So installing IA should fix it (if not I'll look into it).

You should also follow the BWP for installation order. Apart from the issue above, you might get crashes or inconsistencies with stuff like Ascension after the Fixpack (I think the current recommended order is vice-versa, because otherwise Ascension will overwrite or undo a lot of fixes made by the Fixpack).

I downloded the infinity animations, tried to install, was told to download the rest of the things, followed the directions for that, but it won't let me extract the 2 following parts.
1)Belhifet and marilith
2)Shadows harpys frostgiants

I get ridiculous error that it won't let me copy any where except the "clipboard". I have never used the clipboard and can't find the thing right now. I will try again later.

I don't know what that means or where you're getting it, but you need something like 7-Zip or WinZip to extract those two particular archives.
