Hmmm. Ok, I see what you mean....now, how would I go about removing just that component, or would you recommend not installing BG2 Tweaks at all? The problem with the 2nd option is that BG2 Tweaks holds the Level 50 Cap.

You can use whatever level 50 ruleset your heart desires. Just omit the potentially offending component that you want to leave out. Uninstalling it is probably OK since you are using Gen Biffing and you can stack uninstall...I think  :crying:

One last thing, does the kit you have or does your character have any innate spells other than the usual Bhaalspawn powers? Try deleting those kit ot other innates additions with SK and try resting. Could be like the mage hunter problem but I don't know what that Golem Whisperer is or whatever it is.

Yeah, Golem Trainer is immensely overpowered at low to mid levels. Being able to summon golems is a powerful ability. Hell, I killed a Baalor earlier in ToD with a pair of Clay Golems at level 11. As for non-vanilla powers...she has Summon Primary Golem (x2), and Summon Support Golems (x4), the second of which doesn't actually do anything until level 13. Lemme go try removing her powers and resting.

Edit: Oh, and Charm Golem (x2).

Edit 2: Ok, I made a save and modified it, reloaded, and rested. Worked fine. I then loaded my Quick-Save and rested. Worked fine. I then loaded the unmodified save game which I made from the Quick-Save and rested. Instant crash and flickering UI again. Brb, gonna reboot to clear the flickering. Apparently, too many crashes causes....oh. Wait....I bet there's a memory leak somewhere...there'd almost have to be, or the crashes wouldn't lead to RAM errors.

Now I'm glad I don't use BiG World Clean-Up, as if I had, I couldn't try uninstalling or reinstalling any components. Lemme try removing it.

Edit 3: Depression! I got a buncha errors when uninstalling JUST the Rest Anywhere component. Attached File  SETUP-BG2_TWEAKS.DEBUG   1.59MB   670 downloads

Rather than deal with more errors to bust stuff, I'm gonna do a reinstall without that component.

It sounded like the modified saves you had worked and those were modified by deleting the innate abilities from mods, kits and anything not vanilla?

Memory leak you suspect that may be coming from the launcher, ToBex? Try running the game from the normal way by BGmain and that is the way to see if a bug or problem is coming from the ToBex.

EDIT: Also try deleting your temp/cache folder with crashes. I don't think this problem would be solved by that but it works sometimes.

I only used ToBex when creating a character, never during actual play, so that's probably a non-issue. As for my quick-save and unmodded saves....they were randomly crashing on rest. Those above results were one-time things after a reboot of the computer. As for deleting the abilities, I only used SK to remove the golem abilities from my character, and even that didn't give consistent workable Rest. I reinstalled last night, and it -seems- to be going fine, but the Rest bug doesn't seem to appear until shortly into Chapter 2, so I'll post later this afternoon after carting Minsc and Kiyone around for a bit.

EDIT: Alright! I didn't take Kiyone into my party this time except to steal her Two-Handed Sword +2, but so far, no crashes during rests (though all rests were done in Inns and Irenicus' dungeon). So far, so good *knocks on wood*....seems like the removal of that Rest Anywhere component indeed fixed the issue.

EDIT 2: Ok, it's apparently NOT solved. Just attempted to rest in the Spellhold gauntlet thing, and it insta-crashed. Not cool at all, considering I spent a lotta hours today getting here...Of course, Baldur.err is empty as always, even with Logging On=1....

Party Make-up:
PC / Imoen (just rescued from Spellhold) / Minsc (retrieved Boo) / Jaheira (saved from Ployer)

Experimental Results on Resting:
PC + Minsc: No crash.
PC + Imoen: No crash.
PC + Jaheira: Conversation about Khalid missing.
PC + Minsc + Imoen: No crash.
PC + Jaheira + (Minsc OR Imoen): Crash.
PC + Jaheira + Minsc + Imoen: Crash.

Makes me wonder if it's not a Banter Pack issue or something, as I don't recall her waking up with a 'nnn-No, No! blah blah blah....It's more serious than that, I'm feeling Khalid's absence more and more blah blah blah' from the vanilla game. I suppose it's entirely possible that the dialogues got farked somewhere along the install, possibly by a mod overwriting instead of patching, but I dunno enough to say for sure.

I am having this issues as well. Did a clean install with rest anywhere removed. This just started happening with whatever fixes BWS did after the worldmap ones where the borkpack borked the map. I have an install with the same mods and same options right before that fix went to auto update in BWS. I used the one from the forum to fix it before BWS had the new stuff. That install works fine. SO i wonder if some fix just reccently borked resting..

If you still have the BiG World Fixpack folder in your old install, could you zip/rar/7z that and upload it up please? Could help trak down what changed from that update

Ok, I seem to have a confirmed dialogue problem. I'd reinstalled BWP without any Flirt / Banter packs, minimal extra NPCs, and a limited number of mods (no new ones, just a few of the ones I've been using all along), and when I went to the inn at the Docks, instead of shouting at Ployer after being cursed, Jaheira initiated a conversation about my dreams about Imoen (Imoen Romance mod). I'm hoping like hell it's NOT the Imoen Romance mod that's farking my Dialogues, but if it is, I'm gonna be pissed, cause it's the only mod I REALLY want.

EDIT: Btw, that Ployer - Jaheira conversation was working fine as of yesterday or day before with 3 various banter packs and a flirt pack installed.

Here's the only 2 Fixpacks I have...not sure of their release dates or contents. I only fix computers, not script 'em....lol.

Well here they are one is the original zip and the other is just the folder like you asked.

I am a little skeptical of it being something to do with NPCs banter. The rest crash happens to me on brand new games in BG 1 after doing a few things around candlekeep i'll get the crash without anyone having ever been in the party. hmm.. I have been doing installs taking things out and then adding things back in to see if i can narrow it down. I can give the selection files of ones that do and don't have the issue if that could help.

Well, I'm starting off in BG2, and from the looks of it, it's at least partially related to banters between various characters. Also, it's not an immediate bug....usually, it doesn't show up until mid-way into chapter 2. As for my evidence....screwed up dialogues in some places, as well as no crash when I remove or kill certain NPC combos in my parties. HOWEVER, even that didn't perma-fix the issue, as after a couple more rests or whatnot, it would start doing it again.

As for the Fixpack...woops, lol....got confused and uploaded the archives, not the folder....I can't access that anymore, as a previous reinstall removed it >_<

@Rheikon: Thanks! If your second attachment was indeed the fixpack from your working game, comparing it with the one I have (9.5.9) doesn't show anything that might have changed regards resting, Jaheira, Minsc or BTL

The only major change since then (which contains Jaheira) is the exclusion of Kiara-Zaiya's fixes cause a new majorly overhauled version got out and I doubt that's the problem for both of you :P

@Jenavee: Mate, it'd help lots if you could directly quote the lines when the game fubars :D Would help find the mod from where those lines come from and (hopefully) if there's anything fishy with the dialogue ;)

Well, I know for sure that the Ployer - Jaheira conversation after being cursed in the Docks inn is from Imoen Romance mod. I'll try making a new game to grab that conversation, and I'll post any other screwy ones when its trying to crash.

Well, I know for sure that the Ployer - Jaheira conversation after being cursed in the Docks inn is from Imoen Romance mod.

Thing is, I can't find any reference to "Ployer" or "curse" (except a single line spoken by Imoen about her own curse) in the ImoenRom files

Oh, I apologize for confusing you, Lol....the Ployer - Jaheira dialogues are from the vanilla game in the Docks inn, and the Imoen romance apparently overwrote it with a conversation between the PC and Jaheira about the PC dreaming of Imoen and maybe loving her. Lemme grab a couple screenies for ya....

Ugh. For whatever reason, it's not duplicating the issue now. I'll have to redo the dream sequences again, apparently. In any case, in the meantime, here's the vanilla dialogues which are being replaced by the chat about the PC dreaming of Imoen and perhaps loving her.

Ok, I started a new game and managed to reproduce it. Check below the pictures for further info.

Vanilla Dialogues:

Vanilla.JPG

Vanilla 2.JPG

Modded Dialogue:

Modified.JPG

Interestingly enough, I discovered that if I talked to Jaheira before entering the Inn, she'd have the modified conversation with me, and then the vanilla dialogue would work perfectly. Some sort of minor bug between dialogues, I suppose, but maybe not a game-breaker?

The dialogue thing with Ployer sounds like some sloppy state triggering/weighting in Jaheira's dialogue (from ImoenRomance). I'll see if I can look into it sometime soon-ish.

Edit:
If you could upload your jaheiraj.d file somewhere I think it would be helpful. You can obtain the dialogue file with e.g. NI.

Oh, NearInfinity. Derp  Alrighty, lemme go grab NI and get that file.

Maybe it is something with the newer borkpack? The one that is in the working game is 9.5.8. Maybe later I will try setting up another install with the same everything that i have had plus what BWS updated except revert to the older borkpack.

Hmmm, I gotta say, this NearInfinity thing is pretty neat! With this, I might just be able to do some debugging of my own, or at least narrow down various things....I'll have to learn this :woot:

Ok Rheikon, let's have a look from that angle too :) Could you please zip/rar/7z your BiG World Trimpack folder and the file called BiG World Trimpack.bat? Really sorry for the trouble mate!

Now that I have dabus' orig folder, folder-by-folder comparisons should be a snap :D

@Jenavee: Nice work getting that pic :coolthumb:

About exporting, check out the ImpFAQ in my sig to export a decompiled .d file :) (the .dlg you attached is the compiled version)

Basically, there should be buttons at the bottom of NI when you open JAHEIRAJ.dlg saying "Export..."
