Eilistraee's Song
by Lava Del'Vortel

Introduction:

Eilistraee's Song is my new project, which expands the plot of Eilistraee - the deity of drows that rebelled against Lolth the Spider Queen. Eilistraee is actually mentioned in original BG2:SoA by Solaufein after we decide to let him go, but still players were never allowed to get know the full tale.
This mods adds content for players who decided to spare Solaufein's life and let him escape. That means that your decision in Underdark actually has a consequence in the later game. I think it's a pity in original BG2 your decisions in Ust Natha don't really matter in the later chapters. When Solaufein returns to you later, after escaping Ust Natha, he tells you how grateful he is. Eye for an eye, and friendly arm for a friendly arm - he tells you about a new place, where you can ask for help with getting your soul back.
Mod includes 6 new areas, 21 new items (2 of those are available through Cromwell) and obviously some new quests - it's up to you if you wish to complete them or focus on real quests and get your soul back. On the areas you may hear new music themes.
Also, there is a new kit available by completing one of minor quests, although there are some requirements (female, cleric - baseclass, multi- or dualclassed, non-evil character, elf or half-elf). Yes, it's a bit harsh, but that's what the D&D book says.

Installation:

-This mod is a WeiDU mod, so you can install it as any other WeiDU mod. Unzip the archive to your Baldur's Gate 2 directory and run Setup-Eilistraee.exe
-Note that this mod requires BG2:ToB installed!
-Mod is compatible with Solaufein NPC
-If you're using BG2EE START A NEW GAME to find the clearing on the map.

Judging by the description, this mod would seem big enough to warrant a forum of its own.

I'll give it a try next run, of course.

Heh. It was traified so someone could proofread the Polglish easier but apparently someone thought untraifying it would be better :D.

Yeah, but I'd rather wait with that for at least few days - if someone see any problems in talks, there is a bug, let me know! The v.2 will be traified. If there are no bug reports soon, I will traify the mod :) Miloch, that was due to someone's else question...

Well, the mod isn't so big at it seams... I think. Something like additional hour more or less... For now, the mod will stay here. Maybe it will get a place somewhere in the future :)

However, thank you for your support guys! I hope some of you will enjoy the project :)

Music: Higurashi OST

Weird, I don't recognize it at all...

It "Higurashi no naku koro ni". It's rather famous series. However, I used only music, the series themselves have nothing to do with the idea :)

What's weird is that I don't remember this music in there 8) Well, it's been quite time anyway.

Speaking of ideas, some killer halfling (for the lack of better animation) with an axe might enliven the game a bit!

Yeah, but not this time! :D Unfortunetelly, there are no strange disappearances and ritual assassinations in this mod :P And I can't remember the parts in series as well :P

Hello Lava.

ESXBLADE.CRE - looks you need to change the weapon item either in CRE file or through TP2 during the installation. It has BLADE.ITM instead of ESXBLADE.ITM. It is also reported by Miloch's CREFixer.

Thank you! Will check that. The thing is I should fix a thing or two at the mod. If someone would like to help with making new version, let me know. It needs another run of checking proofreading the dialogues as well as some other changes... however, at the moment I'm busy with Uni stuff and different project... It's so close to being done, so I'd rather focus on it. However, if there is someone who is eager to help with Eilistraee's Song, let me know.

Eh, why... did you add more content? (If so, how much more?)

I was informed that it may need a 2nd look and I'm also considering a change of talk or two, but I should finish some other things first...

Well, there isn't much that can't be refined further, but I hope your "informant" gave more details than that. Otherwise, it suggests you've got to go through every single .tra file (perhaps unnecessarily). On the other hand, a specific typo could point to a particular dialogue being overlooked.

I'll let you know what is this all about when I'm home, Miloch :) You know that I would never make that kind of decision anyway. I hate arranging proofreading... and my mods allways desperetelly needs proofreading. Sometimes it make me think I should quit.

For the sake of proofreading? I could give text files a shot, but I'm no good with item, cre's etc.

Cheers

Because my English isn't good enough and when I write a mod I usually make it quite fast and then it just hit a moment of standstill. I wrote TotDG in a half of year and then I spent another month-two on organizing a proofreading-testing team and then it takes another few months to correct the text... I could release 2 times more mods if it wasn't the problem with the language.
Hmmm, are you a native English, Shaitan? Thanks for help, I may ask you for some support, but I'm not sure if I'm going to work on ES now. I want to finish a romance I've been working on for so long... Fortunetelly I have a proofreader for the romance, so there's no standstill.
