Had to drop a line to join in the many cheers. I'm so happy to see someone has picked up the Haer'dalis romance, and you've got a very expansive idea from the looks of it. Anomen is nice and all (if you download the flirt pack) but it was never fair that we girls only had one romance option. And a super needy one at that.

I'm still alive, and so is the mod. I know it's taking forever, and it's driving me nuts. Working slow isn't something I'm fond of. Real life hasn't been so much busy as it has simply been unstable. I don't have any major progress to report, other than overcoming one small but nasty obstacle that will (HOPEFULLY) open up some motivation in me. I really appreciate the continued interest. It makes me want to get off my butt and get it done.

Update: Finished going through the 19 lovetalks (finished one last night) that are currently written, made some edits and am happy with the result. Diving into the last four LTs for SoA over the next few days and (knock on friggin' wood) when that's done, I can move on to other loose ends.

but modding, writing - these things are relaxing and enjoyable. I can't do anything about the unstable stuff in my life right now, other than mope and worry and gorge myself on cream puffs all day, so while I'm waiting for it all to work itself out, I might as well get off my rear and do something fun. Like write lots of pseudo-pr0n and lewd innuendo serious philosophical discussions between Bhaalspawn and Doomguards.

Agreed. I hate to say this, but the truth is that I usually mod least when my life is ideal, too busy enjoying and I mod more when for whatever reason, I can't do other stuff (like hang out with gf or play my Minimal Reloads game, haha)

Yay for cream puffs! I'm more into the mini-eclairs myself, but I wouldn't say no to a cream puff.

Okay, lemme just tell you folks - knocking on wood does not work. 
As soon as I make anything even remotely resembling a plan, life responds with a resounding "lolno."
SO! I haven't gotten anything done, aside from the basic outline for the next LT. But I'm getting to the point where I can focus again, so I won't be vanishing for some asinine period of time again. Just wanted to keep everyone updated (and myself accountable).

Oh gosh, this is still active?? I remember reading about this mod ages ago and worried it'd never see the light of day! Glad to hear there's been a recent update.
Weird how it's been this many years and nobody thought to develop a Haer'Dalis romance before, really. Near every other default NPC has one by now, it seems.. Things like this are practically a godsend for gamers (such as myself) who are stuck on doing perpetual 'let's pop this thing in every six months and see how it goes' run-throughs, though, I have to admit. Mixes things up a little. Now I know I have something to look forward to by the time my next game is finished! Well, hopefully. No pressure.
As a writer myself I understand the creative muse can be kind of flighty.. so I'm not gonna lie; whether you finish this in six months or six years is of virtually no consequence-- to me, at least. (God knows I'll probably still be playing it by then anyway..
) But yeah! Just thought I'd drop out of lurking to say there's definitely still some interest and good luck to you In both life and the mod.

There have actually been multiple attempts to do an HD romance -- 3 at my count I think -- but none of them have come to fruition. It's not a new concept; BioWare intended him to be romanceable originally, if I remember correctly, as well.

To be perfectly honest, HD is a tricky character to write for because he's so very much up for personal interpretation. I've written loads of dialogs, feel confident in my characterization, and even still there are moments (like this morning) where I ask myself if I shouldn't have headed a completely different direction with the whole romance. It's not that what I'm writing is bad or unacceptable to me in some way, it's just that there's equally as interesting potential if I steered his character slightly to the left or right. It's like there's too much potential in him. It's easy for me to understand why other attempts to write a romance for him fell through. It won't happen with this project but I do understand it.
Going to bang out LT20 right now if it kills me. Or write some naughty bits...no, focus! LT20.
I'm also going to put another little taste into the teaser thread once I find something appropriate, since I've been dragging my heels and everyone's been so patient.
