So...what is this WeiDU thingy? Do you need it to play the mods made by this site, what does it do and so on.
Thx.

I'm not really that clued up on the details, I just know that WeiDU makes it very easy to distribute any mods you have made in a simple package. You don't need it to play the mods, only to install them, but they usually have their own WeiDU exe file in them.

For more info, I would advise you to read the WeiDU readme on Westley Weimer's site.

Well the imphing about WeiDU is it allows you to install mods ontop of mods ontop of mods. Lets try that again...

In the beginning there were very big sloppy mods (and there still are infact) that copied their modified files into your override folder replacing whatever was in their way. And then Mr Wes Weimer invented WeiDU. WeiDU allows files in your override to be patched with new strings rather than replacing the whole file. it also creates backups of whatever the file was like before so that it could be cleanly uninstalled. As I stated in the beginning this allows you to install many mods on your computer without it buggering up.

I hope that helped...

WeiDU serves two primary purposes:

1. It is a multi-function modding tool.

2. It is a mod installation system.

Most people will only ever use it for mod installation, and in that case, as was pointed out, you don't need to download it yourself as it will already be packaged in the mod.
