Heya,

I am using the BWS Beta since I didnt like some of the components BWS would choose for me in several mods.
I've tried to get my personal mod config installed for the last 4 hours (which wasnt helped by the fact, that with the Beta some mod's components are divided into several parts according to their use e.g. SCS II is divided 3 times: Tactical Challenges, Rule Changes, KI. That made navigating through the individual components alongside the manual very annoying since you would need to look for certain component numbers in different sections. But anyway...)

Now I am up to the point where I am satisfied with the selection I made, but BWS wouldnt let me.
Along with some other mods i try to install most of SCS II but not the Spell- and Item Revisions mods.
This seems to upset BWS... there are quite a lote of conflicts among the SCS II components.

Since I am quite a newbie at BWP and installing mods in general, I dont really get what BWS wants me to do, so I'll just post what BWS tells me:

All components are from SCSII... translated from German Version - so it might not be correct word-for-word.
First onces are the ones concerning spell striking and general fixing of several spells (PW:Blind, Mantle, etc)

"SCSII-components that don't fit with spell_rev: spell_rev(component 0) is preferred to SCSII(component 2000, 2020, 2021, 2030, 2040, 2041, 2060, 2070, 2090, 2100 or 2140)"

And there are 4 more conflicts regarding the components that move stuff (vecna, etc) to ToB:
"SCSII-components that don't fit with item_rev: item_rev (component 0) is preffered to SCSII (component 3010, 3020, 3030, 3040, 3070 or 3080)."

What gives? Am I to install Spell / Item Revision as well although I dont want to? Fun thing about that is: if I add Spell / Item Revision to my selection, I get even more conflicts!

How could I just ignore these warnings and let BWS finish the damn setup - with the time spent on this, I could have done it all manually by now... I know it is a BETA, but still.

The BWS was rebuild so it would be more steam-lined. It was a copy of the PDF until 10.th October.
Component numbers are written in front of the components name, splitted mods are marked by an asterisk and you can jump to the next part of the mod by using the context-menu.

The BWS tells you that there's a conflict and that spell_rev has a conflict with every component of scsII that follows and the author of the BWP would prefer the first one. So if you want every of those SCSII-components, remove spell_rev 0. If you have it the other way around, you probably found a bug that inverted the icons picture. If you can recall anything you did to that spell_rev or can reproduce that behavior, tell me. As a workaround, save your selection and reload it. This way you can "reset" the icons.

If you think manual installations are faster, try that in the future.
But remember that it's a huge number of components and you'll need to look through those anyway.

Afaik there's no compatibility issue between IR, SR and SCS on their own, but I have almost no experience when it comes to mega mod installations.

If there's anything I can/should do let me know.

Demi, it just shows how far you're behind the train :D IR v3 is already included into BWS, yet you still haven't released it!

Is there a way to switch between the non-beta view (mods listed as in the pdf) and the new "themes"-organized structure from the current beta? I see the point in dividing a mod's components into sections according as to how they exactly modify the game - but this can make you switch between sections a lot especially when you're cross-checking a single mod with the pdf.

The thing is: I didnt even select spell_rev 0. I didnt select any of Spell Revs components and particularly not the core component - I just picked SCS II components.
Seeing as Spell Rev does the same as SCSII does to spells and even more, I can understand why it should be preferred over SCSII. But I didnt like some changes made in the core component, thats why I was confused that BWS moans about conflicts between my SCSII picks and a not selected mod.

Same goes for the fuzz with the conflict with item_rev 0 - didnt select it at all. I checked the Item Revisions readme and it didnt say anything about moving Vecna, Mirror Cloak & Co. to ToB like the SCS II components I selected do. Or maybe I just missed it in the readme.

In the end I just deselected the conflicting components from SCS II and added them back in with the SCSII.exe after BWS was finished with installing. Since SCS is installed more or less at the end of all the mods, I dont think there wasnt a big chance of screwing things up - and according to the WeiDU installer there was only a minor warning with one rather insignificant component.
Havent had a lot of time to check yet, but starting a new game worked fine.

If you think manual installations are faster, try that in the future.
But remember that it's a huge number of components and you'll need to look through those anyway.

Yeah I probably just overreacted since for the last few days I've spent more time checking mod's readmes and trying to get BWS to do what I want it to do, than actually playing the game.
Seeing as BWS really was fast at installing the mods, there's nothing to bitch about. It probably was just a minor bug (either in BWS or in the one sitting in front of the screen). ;)

Having BWP for Baldurs Gate is like the icing on the cake; noone could complain about (free!) cake - unless its a lie...

edit: added my selection ini.

All this was going to happen in v3 of IR, but due to various curcumstances it was delayed to include more content than initially planned. DavidW, having been informed of the future conflict, added checks for IR to prevent double installation of the same content, but v2 also satisfies them. Hopefully, v3 will be out before Christmas...

In the end I just deselected the conflicting components from SCS II and added them back in with the SCSII.exe after BWS was finished with installing. It's not crucial, but this way Gromnir and Azamantes, new owners of Vhalior Helm and Robe of Vecna, will not be able to use them properly in combat.

I didn't knew about this issue, it's my fault for not having released IR V3 sooner. :D With the latest hotfixes even the good old V2 moves those items as per SCS.
