Spell Animation Issues

I am running with wide screen mod on Windows 7 64 bit.
Has anyone had similar issues? If not, is there a way to disable revised spell animations after you have installed? Any idea which mods I should look at for root cause?
Thanks

Question, I just started playing via Big World Setup and I noticed that the spell animations are different. After a bit I realized they are not only different but something seems wrong. For instance, magic missle, the animation is accompanied by a black square so while the revised animation may be nice, this black square flying through the air is a bit distracting.

Have you tried tweaking the graphics settings at all? Sometimes disabling graphics features in the game configuration can help if it is just a rendering issue. Most animation changing mods will use a different animation but black boxes can be seen in all these games if the video rendering is too much, which would be the case in newer video cards.

Erhm, no, what needs to be done is set the configurations the right way, on NVidia cards they need to be this way:I had the same problem, what you need to do is go to configuration and enable brightening, this will fix it.
And those also work on Ati cards, and should on the others too.Start the BGConfig.exe in the game folder(that's not in the Program Files folder as you use W7): Hardware -> Enable 3D Acceleration. Display -> 32 bit. 2d & 3d options: enable 3D Animations, 3D Acceleration and 32 bit textures, disable the Disable Vertex Padding option.
Unless that's the "Software Transparent BLT", but that's a 16 bit Color Depth option...
