RETURN TO THEDAS

13 years have passed since a group of warriors led by the Templar Ravi banded together to prevent an abomination from destroying the Free Marches city of Kaiten in a hedonistic orgy of narcissism and opulence.

The former Viscount Khedra spent most of his life as a venerated ruler, celebrated for his wisdom. Late in life, he started to change, beginning with the construction of a great coliseum where nobles' chosen champions competed for pride and glory. What began as games of entertainment quickly devolved into great spectacles of carnage punctuated by outlandish pageantry. The lesser nobles of Kaiten no longer settled their disputes in court, instead grievances big and small were decided by sword for the pleasure of an increasingly bloodthirsty populace.

The Viscount's nephew, Ravi, and his allies discovered the source of Khedra's odd behavior: Khedra was possessed by a powerful Pride demon and was now an abomination. These heroes were able to defeat the demon in a fearsome confrontation, and mysteriously, you were there to aid them.

Now, Ravi is the Viscount of Kaiten and you are one of his most trusted allies. When a mysterious set of circumstances begin to form around his son Eiton, you are the only one he trusts to save his son.

...custom-designed for the casual and social play style for Facebook users of all ages ... "will deliver a deep, sophisticated experience"

And to think that quote would have been hilarious if it hadn't been so sad.

:wall: :wall: :wall:

In conclusion, Dragon Age is no longer The New Shit, nor is it The Old Shit, and I'm still debating whether just calling it Shit is an insult to crap everywhere.

(Because it is certainly not The Shit, which is something else entirely.)

Aw. Vilk, do at least wait for the reviews to come out before you kill it. It might be just screwed up marketing like last time. xp

And if it is, I will be pleasantly surprised, but come on, look at that quote. LOOK AT IT.

Bioware is run by people who would use terms like "console tard" and mean it.

Ghehehehe. xD

Well, at the bottom of it, that's just a canful of garbled up marketing jargon: it's not even meant to make much sense. All's good just as long as it's all POSITIVE. .p

News:
Dragon Age Spinoff to Hit Facebook @ Grey Wardens

Ex, you seem to be confusing things.

Making any ancillary product, such as a game like DA Legends or Journeys, helps spread the knowledge of the game and, we hope, will eventually help us sell more games. I don't shy away from this fact at all. It is a basic core of business that the more word of mouth you spread (hopefully positive word of mouth) you hopefully attract more customers.

However, having Dragon Age Legends on Facebook is not a "money" thing. It IS a social thing. If anything, from the negative posts you can see in this discussion, we may lose players who would have played a stand alone flash game instead of a Facebook game. We went with Facebook as it is the best Social gaming system for the type of game DA Legends will be.

But I am getting ahead of things. We will have more information on Dragon Age Legends before it is open to the public.

That pretty much sums it up. According to rumors it's going to be one of those games where you have to have x number of friends to play it and so on and so forth...

The beta hasn't started yet, but EA has revealed some of the unlockable items already. Grey Wardens also covered this in their article.

Heheh. I guess I'll look into getting those items in some way though... maybe EA will host the manual files on their server like the last time. They might not even need account-tied authentication, and if so, we could just download them without ever playing Legends. They're free, so it's all legit if I can get my hands on those dazips.

Like mentioned before, the closed beta is in progress now, and we're moving closer to the open beta phase. Personally I won't be participating in either, so feel free to post if you are.

Well, I finally got my beta key this morning, and decided to give it a try. It's about what you'd expect from a facebook game: cartoony graphics, the "bobbing" stance of your character, stuff to upgrade (your castle) and multiple prompts to invite friends (nevermind that the game's still in beta). It's not bad per se, it's just pretty ordinary and I get the distinct feeling that I've played a similar game on the internet before (probably some flash game).

At least I unlocked some in-game items for DA2, right? ^_^

Um... aren't those unlocked by the ACTUAL release, and not the beta?
