Hey, I've been trying to install the BGT mod, but keep on getting the same error message. I have made sure I have clean installs (for both games just in case) and that I have the latest patch avaiable at the Bioware site. I have also tried re-installing the game several times (just in case), but nothing seems to work. Here is a copy of the error message:

Whell, it's a little bit hard to say without the whole setup-bgt.debug file that you fished out that text, but my guess is that your WeiDU.exe's version is either v22100 or v22200 which are bugged for different reasons, the latest should be free from this bug, so go here, download the "Windows Binary" archive and extract it somewhere and copy paste the WeiDU.exe from ther to your game folder and rename it as setup-bgt.exe (after you remove the original) and start the created file, and the mod should install as it's meant to.

Hmm, did as you said, but the file I downloaded, copied and renamed (after deleting the previous file with the same name) doesnt even start the instalation. It says:

[C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\setup-bgt.exe] WeiDU version 22300
{SETUP-BGT.EXE.DEBUG} Queried <pid = -1>

And then nothing else happens...

Will it help to download the whole thing again, and just make sure it is version 22300?

Any other suggestions? And btw. thank you for trying :-)

{SETUP-BGT.EXE.DEBUG} Queried <pid = -1>

You renamed the SETUP-BGT(.debug) file as the .exe ... you obviously don't have the file extensions up, go to Tools -> Folder Options -> and make sure you "Hide extensions for known file types" is off:

Sorry for writing multiple messages that outdates eachother... If this problem continues I will create a profile so that I can delete my older posts. Anyway, I managed to run the "new" file given to me after re-installing the game and starting fresh.... this did NOT solve the original problem thou, so it had nothing to do with the version at all it seems. I did post the entire log file a few posts ago. If somebody manages to figure out whats wrong I will be very happy!

Yeah, I noticed that... what Operation System do you have ? Vista, Windows 7, x84 or x64 ... :whistling: -_-

If you do not understand why I ask this question, it's all because of the I think this is the OS dependent issue, and you need to read the answer 2 here.

I am using Vista... hmm.

My game WAS installed in the Program Files diectory and my Active User Control WAS on, but not anymore. I re-installed the game again directly on C:/ganes, and disabled my Active User Control (btw. thanks for the tip on the last one. That function has bothered me ever since I bought the computer), so if that would ever become a problem in the FUTURE it wount now.

Yet still, *sight* same old problem still occurs :-(

I had exactly the same problem of yours.  I tried several times of uninstall, reinstall, restore of both BG1 and BG2 but still failed.  Finally I move BG1 to the preset folder as BGT indicated (which is C:\program files\black isle\baldur's gate), and the problem was solved!!

Hope this can help you. ^_^
