Hey guys, old BG fan but new modder here. I ran the latest official release of BiG setup on the "recommended" setting, and managed to get everything fully installed properly (as far as the setup program was concerned anyway). I can start the game and boot up a single player game just fine, but whenever I attempt to create a game in multiplayer, the screen goes black and just hangs there until I force the program to close.

The search function here appears to be broken, so I manually dug through some 20 pages of threads trying to find anything on multiplayer. Nothing turned up, so I figured I would make a new post about it.

Is this a common issue with an easy fix, or is multiplayer impossible with all of these mods running?

Thanks for reading, and I'd appreciate any help that you could give, guys ^_^

Yes, see the multiplayer hangs because one of the Windows Firewalls won't let it pass, you just have to exit back to the Windows(use the Windows -button or similar method) when the games still running and hanging and allow the program to pass through, and you can then just go back and the game will go to the 'multiplayer character selection' screen.

My firewall is turned off entirely, actually, so that can't be it.

Also, I narrowed down the problem. The "hang till it crashes" event only happens when I'm running the game in fullscreen. When I'm in windowed mode, it makes it to the character select screen just fine.

That still leaves me with a problem, though, because when I use the widescreen mod it forces the game into fullscreen mode. So unless I can find a solution for the root of the problem, it looks like I'm going to be stuck running at 800x600 <_<
