Does modded BG2 make the Beholders harder? Coz im level 14 or 15 sorcerer, in full party, couldn't defeat the beholders in the beholder lair in the underdark for the matron mother's quest. i have the cloak of mirroring, it does reflect spells all right, but it doesn't do them much harm at all.

There is coupple mods that do that... open the WeiDU.log file with Notepad and copy paste the text to a post... and if the file is longer than your arm vertically(20+ lines), put the text in the spoiler tags, like these:

Thanks for the reply, Jarno..
At the moment, am not playing due to quite busy schedule, am working on my baldur's gate 2 love novel fic. :)

Haven't played BG2 for a while too. Am doing a run-thru after completing the unmodded version a number of time during the past few years.
Since I am re-running in Core Rules mode and modded, which mods do u recommend?
(take your time to reply this 'tho, i won't be expecting a reply so quickly as i'm quite busy with school and my fic writing)

These should make them a lot harder...

~SETUP-D0QUESTPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // General AI Improvements
~SETUP-D0QUESTPACK.TP2~ #0 #1 // Creature & Area Improvements -> All Creature & Area Improvements
~SETUP-D0QUESTPACK.TP2~ #0 #2 // Creature & Area Improvements -> All Creature Improvements

Thanks for the reply, Jarno..

You are welcome.
Use the BWS on 'Tactical Install' and make the ultimate experience on the modified game... yes, that's very heavily changed game and not much like the original, and one should study the mods one is installing, the way the whole thing is made, all the options it has, there's tons of that here, in this and in the .pdf files...

Now, of course that's a lot to read for ones install, so if you like to try something different but still with only a small effort, I would recommend the Classic Adventures total conversion mod... it changes the game so that you begin a whole new story, you start at level 1 in a village that 'has been your home your whole life...' it's content relies much on the old Pen and Paper module game, but even if you have no idea what they were all about, you catch on quickly as everything is more or less explained, and as a player, it might be better you don't know everything. The mod is still been made, but it has a lot to show, and it's quite long actually and it has multiple routes/paths.

Thank you again Jarno.
For the QuestPack changes, I can just run the program and uninstall them, right?

For BigWorldSetup, do I need to reinstall BG2?

At the moment, I want to place the game on hold, till perhaps after my semester exams are over (Nov). Also waiting for Keeping Yoshimo mod to release.

Well, the thing is that it's quite deep within the install order... and so, you'll need to start a new game after you have uninstalled the mod... so if you wish to continue with the same game, you should just use the Console and enable the key-cheats and Ctrl-Y the monsters you don't wish to live.

For BigWorldSetup, do I need to reinstall BG2?

Yes, or have a clean backup...

I left a question to u on the G3 forum regarding how to resolve the KY and YF mods compatibility issue, looks like I have to reinstall/use a clean backup (I have a backup of the override folder though)

For now, replaying the game is no big issue, the main issue was Fikraag though, (I took an hour or so of reloads trying to kill him at around lvl12) but maybe he's harder because of the D0QuestPack mods u mentioned above? 'coz I recall reading in a walkthru that the difficulty of boss monsters depends on your main character's level.
