I was wondering if there is a tweak or mod that let's me swap unused spells to more appropriate but not yet memorized ones? I find this memorize mechanic a bit too unforgiving, especially considering that I do not know what to expect from next battle on my first playthrough.

Are you using a Sorcerer ? It's a horror show for the first play through... but the other mages can all unlearn their spells so they can replace them with others... but there's at least two mods that make that unnecessary, the TobEx allows the use of more than 24 spells on the spellbook, and the BG2Tweaks allows to scribe as many spells as one wishes...I was wondering if there is a tweak or mod that let's me swap unused spells to more appropriate but not yet memorized ones? i think he/she means swap memorized spells without resting.. for mage.
as for sorcerer kit, i had to edit the lousy lower level spells i added wrongly using ShadowKeeper
i was using dan simpson's guide, then i found a different sorcerer guide. however the game lets me cast those spells but whenever i level up, they give me the spells i have just taken using shadowkeeper, as if i have never changed my lousy spells to these spells at all.
