After I place the weapon in the arms of the sun god statue, is he supposed to visit the PC at all anymore? He promised to visit a few more times but nothing has been happening at midnight. So should I wait and put the weapon in the statue AFTER I have finished the romance thread with Aidan, or did I hit a bug? It might be worth mentioning that I did hit what must have been a bug when I was releasing the souls from the prison globe. A vampiress named Lydia or something similar appeared from one of the windows after I had destroyed the lich and taken the weapon. Upon the death of the Vampiress, she dropped a second copy of the Fist of Amaunator, so I wound up with two of them. I placed them both in the arms of the statue, but only one of them vanished, so could this be why he is not showing up? Thanks in advance.

You probably can't finish the romance until after his quest is done, but it happened anyway on one playthrough.
Lydia is Vic's Improvements, from BWL. That is undoubtably why you never got that last dialogue. The two mods were supposed to be made compatible, but they appear to be incompatible still. The problem is that Vic's Improvements overwrites Alchra Diaget, the lich that's supposed to spawn, and inserts its own Lich, Lydia.
I apologize for the frustration of not being able to complete Fading Promises. Unfortunately, there are limits to how far I will go to make my mod compatible with an overwrite-based mod from a for-profit community. As a consolation, the Fist of Amaunator is a very nice mace.

I think that the best option would be to uninstall Vic's Improvements and play the game without it. That mod is directly replacing the resource, so there is definitely a solid conceptual incompatibility; basically, B would have to re-create the resource and make you face two liches, each with their own stories, at the same time - confusing and bleh. Or, try to detect Improvements, check for the .cre, and hijack/change it. Install order can't fix this one, patching can't fix this one reliably - it requires changes in Improvements or B trying to rewrite someone else's mod on detection re-inserting her materials into that story (which becomes very very difficult to maintain or troubleshoot).
