I also installed baldurdash fixes...they don;t shw here though (?) might this have caused a conflict with the gibberling fixpack?

This would be my second install...I installled the game before and started TS with a saved game (with an auto save in d'Arnisse stronghold area, after I completed it but a while before I went to investigate the Umar hills.
B ut I don;t really see how this would have caused Torgall to be undefeatable....aside from the "no index reference to SUREHP line in tolger.bcc file. I took them down to the last 1hp point...to the point where they dropped their magic shields and seemed to have no mpore magic to cast and yet still hit and wouldn't die..they wou;ldn;t teleport to another room either.. Mind you, the first time around I got so frustrated (after trying to beat them down for over 40 minutes!) that I just ignored them and went on to the cold room. I had no problems with Lavok at the end, he did give me experience and managed to save him, but never killing them....I don't suppose it shou;ld be like this hence I though maybe someone here could help me- it;s really appreciated.

Thanks again.

When you say he is undefeatable, is he literally immune to all damage, or just too difficult for you? If you CTRL-Y him, does he die?

Edit: The OP has added more details to his post, rendering my question unnecessary

One thing, I'm fairly sure Tortured Souls is usually installed well before BP. I don't know what the effect would be of installing it afterwards would be. Probably not related to your current problem, but all's possible.

Yeah, especially if there's no line for it in the WeiDU.log, which means you installed the non-WeiDU version which can't be installed. You're best off starting a clean install with just the BG2 Fixpack, and following the BiG World Project/Setup guide for other mods you want (you can in fact install some of the WeiDU Baldurdash if you follow that guide carefully).

Also, is there a reason for why you installed the super-ancient v4 of the G3 BG2 Fixpack instead of v9?

That's what I tried to do. It said in one of the readme files that both bugfixes and baldurdash were needed -.-
I tried to look for the newest WeiDU version but this proves I failed miserably. Plus I read in the FAQs that you can install up to one non-WeiDU mod. Plus i thought the baldurdash fixes are necessary for the TS add-on.

Actually, I thought it was no longer updated...I guess I made the mistake of trusting the version provided on my [localized, btw] copy of the game. And localized means I try to look for mods in my own langugge thinking that having part of the game in English and part of the game in my native language would cause a conflict...but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's just that mods on local sites are mostly outdated nowadays unless I haven;t found the correct site yet, one that would keep up to date with the changes here.

I guess that'll teach me to trust local DVD games publishers instead of a perfectly active site with great FAQs. -.- I'll reinstall it with the 9.0 version from the gibberlings site...and then move on to installing the mods following the Big World manual. (Bless you all for all of this hard work! So glad I stumbled across this forum)

If I tried with the save that I have (before Umar hills but after d'Arnisse hold) do you think it would break the game? Tried it last time, all seemed to work fine but maybe that could also be a problem. It's just that I was everal dozens of hours well into the game before I started having problems and at this time I'd hate to start over.

Thank you all for your super nice help. I really appreciate it. Sorry for being such a noob.

I don't know where it says that, but it's not really good advice. All the mods you install should be WeiDU format.

Save yourself some time and get the latest Big World Setup program. It will let you select any mods you want (or do it for you if you choose 'Recommended' etc.) *and* download and install the correct versions for you.

Here is the list of links to all mods, which you shouldn't really need to download manually, but it's there for reference. As you can see, Baldurdash-WeiDU is on the list.

Also, the latest Big World Project PDF file (in English) for reference.

That's really all you need to get started. The BWS should do the rest.

Someone should probably pin that info in the megamod forum, if it isn't. Maybe it's buried somewhere in Jarno's monstrous FAQ, but there should be a sort of 'quick reference' or 'getting started with BWP.'

Edit:

If I tried with the save that I have (before Umar hills but after d'Arnisse hold) do you think it would break the game?

Yeah, it's very possible. You're best off starting a new game after installing/uninstalling any significant mods. Plus you might miss a lot if you don't.
