Does anyone have any experience in trying to run an existing, working, BWP installation from a second operating system?

I have installed on windows XP and am trying to get it working through wine on linux? I assume its possible (i know the vanilla games can be installed/played) however I get a error message if i try to run the BWP installation, even if i copy the files to where i had installed the vanilla games in wine.

You probably just have to change the paths in your baldur.ini file - I don't know why else it wouldn't work.

Ahh thanks, That did help.

I did need to do two things.

I added a new Wine Drive with the same letter that is registered in the ini. (in my case F) with the BGII installation directory as its mount point.

and secondly, the wine command is a bit funny if you dont terminal to the directory manually.
in my case it is:-

wine start /Unix "/home/paul/.wine/dosdevices/f:/Games/BGII - SoA/BGMain.exe"
