Since BGT doesn't biff its files like it usually does, there wouldn't be any biffed BGT creature files until generalized biffing was run. Up to that point, the creature only exists in the override.

Oh, of course. That was daft of me. Still not used to the whole running BG1 in BG2 thing!

Saw the debug ... saw this:
...
[BG1CRE/DEDER3.CRE] created from [c:/bi/baldur's gate/DATA/CREATURE.BIF]
[BG1CRE/VOLETA.CRE] created from [c:/bi/baldur's gate/DATA/CREATURE.BIF]
[BG1CRE/WINSKI2.CRE] created from [c:/bi/baldur's gate/DATA/CREATURE.BIF]
[BG1CRE/TAMAH.CRE] created from [c:/bi/baldur's gate/DATA/CREATURE.BIF]
...
That's a given cause changelogs came out ...

... but am shocked at this :o

This was a bug in one of the OLD biffmeister builds! The final package I gave Leomar didn't have this! (and neither does the current one I uploaded today) Those are missing item icons btw so I dunno if they can CtD but I'd recommend the BWS to uncheck the trimpack until the newer files are patched

I have a couple of questions not regarding the previous technical problems. I've tried searching the forum, but I

I'm done with the BG1 main quest and Werewolves' Island, right now I'm in Durlag's tower. I haven't played anything of DSotSC yet, but I'm longing for Waukeen's promenade and the rest of BG2. I know that most of BWP's mods are for BG2 too, and I want to try them before long.

1) Is there a certain xp level I should be before proceeding to BG2? Right now I'm at 95k
2) Do I get to keep any items in BG2? It affects how much I should bother with upgrading items for the last couple of hours of BG1.

1) Well, the original game had XP capped at 89k and the expansion had 161k, so, so. It might be marked out though that a few of the really hard BG1 battles kinda need a 9th level character as the casters throw spells that have instant kill for anyone under that limit(unless they are re-adjusted  ).
Of course in the original BGT, the limit is 8 000k(eight million), so there's really no rush, and most of the installs have the cap removed entirely.
2) Nope, without cheating... well, you do keep the standard items the BG2 usually imports, but they are no mod content items.

If you're done with Sarevok, you can just talk to some guy (Belt??) in the castle in baldur's gate (damn I forgot everything!) :(

EDIT: Guess you were asking about being prepared :P Well, Jarno covered everything above ...

Nope, you may find some gear around the chateau but you'll lose most of the mod gear :D (... but there are workarounds ... in-game workarounds ... :shifty:)

Thanks for the quick answers. I'll run through Durlag's Tower quickly and maybe skip DTotSC.

The only items I care about are the spell book (I've been saving up for whatever mage I choose in BG2) and the Short Sword of backstabbing (I'm playing a Kensai/Thief multiclass). I've read somewhere that it should be possible to pause the game while the screen is black, before Irenicus shows up, and dump some items. True?

Well, there's that :D

But a more reliable way would be:
1) Get a "Rod of Refuge" from the skeleton in the Ulcaster School (itemcode: K0rod01 ... if you threw it away :P)
2) Use it and teleport to your mini-pocketplane ;)
3) Drop items to save
4) Use rod again to come back
5) Start BGII (you'll lose the rod)
5) Kill the crypt king in one of the Graveyard District tombs in Athkatla to get a new rod of refuge
6) Use rod to go to same mini-pocketplane
7) Grab items and PROFIT!!! :woot:

This is just a more "roleplaying" excuse for CLUAConsole:CreateItem() though

EDIT: Scratch that ... you don't have Konalan's Tweaks installed  Well, CLUA all the way mate :D
