Hi,

I've been a fan of Baldur's gate for close to a decade now, and I've appreciated the different mods that spellhold studios and other mod developers have put out to enrich my game. My problem is that I recently updated my drivers on my nVidia 7800 GTX graphics card, and the Baldur's Gate Megamod that I have installed has now slowed to a crawl. At least, I'm fairly sure that it's the drivers that have caused my problem. I can't seem to use the "roll back" option, so I'm trying to find out which drivers to reinstall, but my searching around on Google has produced out-of-date posts, or other somewhat useless information. Can anyone give me any advice on which driver would be best, or how I could better search for the driver I want. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Well, what happens when you pause the game and try to scroll around the map?

Cause it could also be that you are actually suffering from lag. And the general solutions for that are in the answer #5 here.
That is if the game scrolls fine when paused, but has bad slowdown when not paused.

If it still slow even when paused, you should read this and make sure your games configurations are well, and then use the other tools if it still needs a kicker.

Hi,

Thanks for your response! I had a look at my config program, and everything was already set as you'd suggested. I think I should clarify: BG was working fine, with no problems before I updated my drivers, and only once I updated the drivers did everything slow down. In answer to your question, when I try to scroll the map with the game paused, the game "stutters" a lot. Thanks for your help!

You could try looking around on this forum for an older, more stable driver. You'll have to grep around a bit for one that matches your machine, and get a few different versions, that way you can test which works best.
