...the latter would be cool, but kind of story-breaking, i guess. (?)
(edit: typo)
Yes, it would be quite interesting and I have seen posts on other forums where people were able to jump into bg1 zones with some console commands? This of course had many side effects such as quest and dialog breaking. I am without the specifics. Would it be possible to create a mod that can make this happen smoothly? Slightly story breaking, yes, though if it were possible then mods could be created to install after one finishes bg1 implementing new quests in old zones and even new zones all together.. a re-visit of sorts to keep the original bg1 areas available for exploring. The reason for my asking is I was wondering if I'd be able to go back and finish side quests after I transition to bg2 or if I must complete all the side-quests I'd like before the transition.

The actual answer is; Not without cheating... as you can Console yourself to the former BG1 areas when you know the area codes, but there's really no need, nor is there any updates to the old areas, as it's not expected you to be there.or does it create the ability to travel from BG2 zones back to BG1 zones as if it were a single game?
Erhm, the vanilla BGT-WeiDU shouldn't have that...This of course had many side effects such as quest and dialog breaking.

Thank you for the BG/TuTu/BGT area codes. You have inadvertently solved a problem of mine
