PS:T Spell flickering and slowdowns on Win 7

The problem is that whenever I cast spells, the screen flickers, slows down and sometimes outright crashes if there's very demanding stuff going on. I've looked around a lot and seen that disabling hardware acceleration seem to have helped many- however, it appears I can't change any of that because I'm on Win 7 with a Nvidia GT8800. I tried download a fix uh... "biggs" had, but it didn't help either. I've got no clue what to do and it's extremely frustrating because I can't continue as it is, even though I really, REALLY want to!
Would appreciate help greatly

Have you "turned off" both the UAC and the PCA ?There's nothing that can be done for a Windows 7?
You do it like this in Windows7; UAC: Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Change Your User Account Control settings... set to the bottom most option and done.
PCA: Push the Start -> type to the console: gpedit.msc and start it, then User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Application Compatibility, in where you double click the option "Turn off Program Compatibility Assistant", and inside its configuration mark the "Enabled" -> Apply -> OK. And after those you need to restart the computer. for them to take effect...
The PCA in a x64 system for example have been known to not allow the BGII - ToB's patch program(26498) to patch the BGMain.exe, which makes the game unusable... Macro Hard Worm Doors.

The second one is so you can install tools that can help you, and the install actions actually take effects as the windows safety protocols don't prevent overwritings etc.... the hardware acceleration on Nvidia GT8800 might be disabled by default... so you cannot change that, but you might need to install the nvidia fix again. The first one was already fixed, and I 'enabled' the second one and restarted. This was so I'd able to adjust the hardware acceleration, right? I couldn't change it even now though, it's all greyed out

Another strange thing that has been happening is the models kind of... being slippery. Sometimes they slide back and forth on the spot aswell, this happens to both NPCs and PCs. They also tend to do the run animation in one direction, while they are actually running in another. It's all terribly annoying and I have no idea what causes it and even more importantly, how to solve it =/

This solved it Granted, I can barely see the dialogue options at the bottom but it all flows smoothly and without a hitch! Thank god for these forums
