Good time of the day!

I wrote about this problem before and didn't get the answer, but it was in BG and when BG2 started everything was ok. Now this annoying thing returns.

I again began to stuck in doors and stairs after location is loaded. It's always the same, I change location, party is appeared and then my char "teleports" a few steps back and got stuck in doors or stairs. A good example is when I get out of the planar sphere he stucks in a doorway to sphere.

This is very frustrating thing to deal with I remember that I hated it in BG and now it's back again. <_< Can anybody help in solving this issue, or at least tell what could be the reason. Thanks in advance.

Going purely with the gut feeling, I would say that you had one time put on the "Boots of Phasing", or "Boots of Displacing" and so you are stuck with the script that changes your location in combat... the only good advice I have is, don't put them on, and that's it.

Hmmm... that's very interesting because last item I put on was Chimandrae warded slippers and they increase movement rate. Though I used several types of Boots of Speed and it was ok. Also now I switch position regardless of the equipement, even if I'm naked. And it happens only for my main character. Thanks for the tip I think I'll look for variables in CRE. However it's a very rough guess and I don't quite now what I'm looking for...

EDIT: Hmmm... these boots have immunity to grease and web and other effects I remember that in BG I worn boots with simular effects. Though I don't quite get how can these immunities cause position shifting and why I keep shifting it even if I remove these boots.

Well, you are stuck with the effect as the script is never removed from the creature. If I were you, I would first of course go to the game folders "save" folder, then copy the saves to somewhere safe, then open the save folder with Near Infinity, edit the baldur.gam file in the correct save game and there push the Edit, then go to the "Party member 0", double click it so it opens up, then go to the last line "CRE file" and double click that, it opens up, go about 4/6th of the whole list down and you see "Kit", "Override script", "Class script", "Race script", "Default script"... the all the script should be empty(none) except the Default one which should have, at least in my game it's "DPLAYER3.BCS".

Thanks Jarno. But it seems that I was wrong. I loaded a previous save and equipment in this save was the same and without this annoying effect. I tried to reproduce this issue but couldn't, I did every quest I did since the last save, luckily only two.

I have an idea though, that maybe it was caused by EMaD quest "A Bhaalspawn's Best Friend". There is a wolf that follows you and when you get out of the building someone from your party switch position due to the wolf which appears a bit later. It was the last quest and after I released this wolf that time, the issue begin. But it's not clear statement, because I couldn't reproduce the issue again and another script could cause it.

Just as an example here is a couple of screens.

On the first one I appear after location switching and the second one is 1 sec later(char shift position and stuck).

Btw I looked through CRE scripts there are only Dakkon's blade and DPLAYER3.BCS scripts that's all.

Again I had this "stuff" and again I can't quite get the idea what could cause it. For now I think that "Bhaalspawn's best friend" is the culprit, more specifically when I release Betana. I reversed my saved game and will make a few more tests.

I wonder if anybody could give me information about what else could be the cause. I mean technically. I think I'm close but don't have enough info to pinpoint the issue.

Well, you could try to pinpoint the problem from any script file by installing the LSTest I have uploaded into the bottom of this thread, and checking what it says every time just before you get the switch.

Oh, I created such script from The Bigg's guide, but I needed to write each BCS in question. So I wonder what does this mean:

COPY_EXISTING_REGEXP GLOB ~.*\.bcs$~ ~override~

Does this mean it will return info about all scripts? If it is, this really is a cool stuff.

Yes, from every script, precisely.

I get this exact same problem, though my installation seems quite different from the OPs. According to my observation, the problem always first appears when you for the first time enter Baldur's Gate in BGT. It's the first instance where my character warps after loading the new area and it will always happen after that. The problem even persists over the transition to BG2 and in Irenicus' jail the PC actually spawn outside the cage he's supposed to be in. An imported save game from the very end of BG1 doesn't display this behaviour, though. Unfortunately the fun doesn't last, as the bug returns at some point in BG2. It's hard to pinpoint the exact location as sometimes you don't notice the warping (if you give a move command before the warp happens, it it canceled) but I think it may have started sometime after the planar prison quest. This would suggest it's somehow caused by wearing Boots of Speed.

I've done a complete re-install between games but it doesn't seem to help. Ever since I started incorporating BGT into my installations, I've been struggling with this frustrating bug.

Here's my weidu log:
Spoiler

Update (just registered and can't edit guest posts):

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with characer scripts or currently worn equipment. I can unequip my stuff and erase AI scripts with NI and it still happens. Also, apparently a move command does not always cancel the warp. I noticed this while testing the bug at the inn at the city gates in BG2. Issuing a move command cancels the warp when moving out of the inn but not when going back inside. Also, the timing of the warp seems inconsistent. In some areas it takes perhaps a whole second or more, other times only half a second or so. I think it may have something to do with how large the area you're loading is.

OP: do you have Full Plate and Packing Steel installed? Apparently v2 of that mod can cause this behaviour by spawning an invisible object for some technical reason. It should be fixed in the v3 beta, which I'm going to try soon.
