In case you are worried about registry:
Of course there would be orphan registry entries but if you are going to install to the same directory it won't matter. I'm playing with installed BWP, but reinstalled OS, so I don't have BG registry keys at all.
And if you want to speedup this process in future - make backups. I have a backup folder of BGII - SoA with ToB only(patched). I also have backup folder with all mods I wanted unpacked in BGII - SoA but without installation and finally a backup folder with everything intalled
That's the most effective way to reinstall everything - to have backups. though it would help only in the next install
I personally reinstalled BWP like 8 or 9 times and each time I just deleted "BGII - SoA" folder, don't touch "Baldur's Gate", delete only "BGII - SoA" folder.

I recently started playing through Baldur's gate with a mega-mod for the first time. I installed the standard version of the BWP, and had no issues until midway through chapter 2, when the game became unable to save, instead asking if I would like to quit. Becasue this problem came up midway through the game, I am unsure as to how to proceed. I planned to keep my save fiels, and unistall, then reinstall BG. However with all the mods, I don't kniow how to correctly uninstall the entire program. How do I uninstall with all these modifications?
Well, you probably meant that he needs to uninstall the game, and then delete the game folder... not just delete the game folder, as that will leave the registry entry. But in that one should keep in mind that the BiG World Downloads folder is some times kept in the game folder, so it needs to be moved, so the BWS doesn't need to redownload everything.Hmm, and what exactly is so difficult about uninstallation? If you plan to reinstall just delete the directory and that's all.
Now, what comes to the saving... I have never seen what you JayWo describe, so this might be a bit out of place, but are you sure you didn't push the quit button ? And what GUI mod option do you have installed? As theoretically there is a chance that as you bush the interface buttons, the computer actually uses another interface... so the text and the buttons aren't what they read.
