Hello it's me again.
I just installed BG2 on a new computer running windows 7. I installed these mods too.
BG2 SoA
BG2 ToB
Patch 26498
BG2 Fixpack

Ascension
Unfinished Business
The Wheels of Prophecy

Items Revised main
Spells Revised
Sword Coast Stratagems 2
Rogue Rebalancing
aTweaks
Items Revised components
BG2 Tweakpack

It all runs fine, except I've encountered this strange problem. Basically, clicking on the spell or ability icon in the interface does nothing. The only way to access a spell/ability is to open the inventory (or journal, map etc...), then return to the game screen whereupon I can cast one spell (or ability) before I have to go through the whole process again. Could anybody help me out with this?
cheers

Why do you have to go through the whole process ? Does the interface get jammed or what ? Like this... are you sure you didn't install anything else, and that you had a clean install before you made the mod compilation/install(so you installed to a new clean install folder...)

It also could be that the game gives these symptoms because the Vista has it's protections up(and you didn't remove them), so disable the User Account Control, and make a clean install to a non-Program Files folder... how, the answer #2 in here tells how.

I disabled UAC first thing, don't worry.
The problem is not like in that link. I can see everything and click on the button, and it "presses" in, but it doesn't take me to the sub menu of spells.

You probably clicked the wrong button, use the right click/right side mouse button(not the left mouse button), as you set the quick use spells to the interface bar the first time... and there's the main spell button(a mage, has 3 quick spell slots and the main spell button that are a bit different) which always (should) take you to the spell selection bar.

Well I don't know why but restarting the computer fixed the problem. Thanks for the replies anyway.
