I do not know if this is Fade related or not. I was playing tonight in chapter 6 when a messenger appeared and asked Fade to come see Aran because he has another job for her (start of family quest I believe). After entering the Shadow Thief Basement the game CTDs after about 3 seconds (does not matter which entrance).

Question 1: Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Question 2: If I do not do the family quest (that is I do not go to see Aran) is there going to be problems down the line keeping Fade through the game.

Question 3/4: Is there a way, such as changing variables to skip the start of the family quest (Aran's part) and continue on with the rest of the quest? Do I have to see Aran more than once?

I am going to continue on with my game, but if anyone can answer these questions for me, I would appreciate it.
(WieDU log removed as it is no longer needed)

That is one wacky install order you've got. You should be following the BWP guide for mod order. I don't know if it's related, but you shouldn't be installing other mods that add creatures after Aurora. It says so in the readme. Maybe I need to emphasize that more, but I could bold the entire readme and people still won't read it :P. You could try installing the IA-Aurora LOW Fix but if you keep tacking on creature mods after that, you'll have more problems.

Oh, and put your WeiDU.log in SPOILER tags so it doesn't spam the forum, and post the contents of your baldur.err file, if there's anything in it besides line breaks.

If Im not mistaken, this is a normal event.  Aran is summoning you to let you know that Bodhi is back and he wants you to go finish her off for good.  I dont recall him asking for Fade specifically, just you.  The messanger says something like "I was just leaving to find  you-Aran wants you to go see him as soon as possible" or such.  If you have good rep with Aran he will send you some assassins to help out too (and bitch about helping you if you have bad rep).  Other groups that might help you out with bodhi in chapter  6 is Drizzt and friends, the paladins, and even a church if you are a cleric -I think.   I usually dont bother with the help as they take away xp and are very buggy; if anyone of them is charmed, they think you are to blame and leave you -the nerve!  The paladin leader has a sword that occasionally procs fireball too, which the other friendly npcs also hate and blame you for if it happens.  Hope this helps!

Sorry for the double post but forgot one thing---If it was the family quest for Fade, I seem to recall it a little, you do need to see Aran, then check in the door outside the shadowthief building, just north.  If you dont find info there, go back to the temple of Amanitor in the sewers under the temple area-you might find the quest leading there -been awhile though. Im pretty sure you can keep Fade even if it doesnt work -its just a quest to tie up loose endings in regards to her family, and they have some serious disfunctional issues.

No offense, Midnight, but I believe tadmeyer was posting due to issues with their game crashing, not with the quest itself.

First, sorry about the WeiDU.log. I was tired and didn't want to figure out how to do that.

The install order is wacky because this was kinda an experimental game. I don't know anything about BWP, so I didn't know there was a guide. I will look into that. Anyway, I was trying to figure out which things were coming from which mods and thus added things later.

As for Aurora, I would very much suggest emphasizing the point about where to install Aurora. I missed that note in the readme. It was indeed the problem and the fix solved the CTD. Thank you.

This was a specific summon for Fade. I know Aran does usually summon you as well for help with Bodhi. Thanks for the response though, fortunately, my problem was solved.

Actually, I was asking for help with the quest as well in case I could not solve the CTD problem.
