Thanks! *Hops on dungcart* : D

No here's to hoping the Hawkes can manage more than a chicken's flight once they take off!

At least we'll have lots of brown terrain and the Final Fantasy sword collection!

News:
Rise to Power Trailer HD Download @ Big Download

Not a particularly interesting trailer. I like the graphics quality updates they've done, but the visual style isn't all that great.

So if we dont get the collectors edition will we never be able to get this bonus char? Or do you think he or she will be offered as DLC like Shale / Kasumi etc were?

The bonus character will undoubtedly be offered as DLC like Shale was. The price tag will probably be high, say double the price of some random DLC pack.

Eh, well. Preordered. Figures, might as well...

Yeah, let me just make you some room here on the 'wagon... *AMS kicks down 1337f@n1!*

Heh. :P

Ha...Thats funny Isabella is going to be a companion and the "easy romance option" like Zevran was...I wonder how many other old faces will see...

I thought she was annoying in Origins... I wonder if they're going with the same voice actor this time?

Also, Oghren will be the "extremely easy" romance option for the female Hawke. If she turns him down, Oghren will pursue any woman currently in the party.

... Ok, I made up the bit about Oghren. But I can already picture Mike Laidlaw reading this and going, "Hm, that would make a good DLC pack."

I think the Voice Actor for Isabella was also Queen Anora...So that would be kind weird if she was the VA for her in the game...Hopefully they get a new one! Not saying the VA for Queen Anora is bad...but have you heard how horrible she yells at the end of the game if you choose her to be Queen? Then again Lei was crazy with her battle yells as well :P

Joystiq has a newsbit on Dragon Age II being part of EA's "Project Ten Dollar", an incentive to buy your games new.

"We haven't announced what's in it, but it'll definitely be something kind of in that Cerberus vein where there will be additional content."

They also promise better quality DLC:

"What we're doing with the DLC in Dragon Age 2 is making it larger; so it'll be bigger teams, more unique environments, more unique creatures -- so that it gets the attention it deserves to get."

Yeah, it's the same VA for both of them. They should switch around as not to make her sound too much like Anora - no matter what her range might be, I'd still hear Anora... always making those annoying little remarks.

As mentioned before, BioWare is handing Staff of Parthalan vouchers if you successfully sign up for the BioWare/EA newsletter. You also have to verify your EA Master Account's email address by logging in (BioWare Social login details) and clicking on "unverified" to send yourself a confirmation email, which contains yet another link for you to click. Then you have to go back to your EA Master Account and make sure that you have the "Contact me about EA's products, news, events and promotions." and "Dragon Age" boxes checked in the "Contact Preferences" tab. The sign-up deadline is October 31st. The emails should be coming in November.

Now BioWare and Penny Arcade have conjured up another item that you can get for signing up for the BioWare/EA newsletter: Hindsight, a belt. This item you can get immediately though. The backstory is here, and the direct sign-up link is here. After you've successfully entered your login details the item should show up in "Your registered game promotions" at BioWare Social. I've already got mine, so if you've got a moment, grab yours.

Gorgut the Wizened, poison.
Vil Arak, stabbed forty-three times.
Haliath Baronet, witches."

So, Isabella is going to be an NPC, a companion and a romance option? That's been confirmed?

I love Anora's voice and would like to see Anora again, but Isabella - isn't she, like, too old? She's got lines on her face and all.

She's been remodelled - no lines on this one - no pants either! New voice actress too.

Basically it's a completely new character who just happens to share the same name.

And I see they're increasingly desperate to get sales before the reviews come out.

Lovely.

I'm not excited about Isabella as a companion/LI. There's only room for one sassy female in my party and that's my PC. I'm starting to wonder if they're going to give us male companions at all. Everyone they've shown has been a buxom female.

Well, the span of time covered in the game will be considerably longer than in Origins, so you should expect a multitude of companions. I only fear that having too many (also temporary) companions will make them bland, but maybe BioWare will find some acceptable middle ground. I wouldn't be worried about this as much if they had used more development time, but as it is...

They haven't revealed that many companions yet, so I expect them to be revealed one by one for maximum media coverage each time. They've revealed some characters, but obviously not all of them are going to be joinable.

 @ the growing (and, perhaps, justified) skepticism in this thread. Yeah, I'm a little concerned, too, but I'll likely get the game as well and I'll likely enjoy it.

Armor/tighter clothing can have that effect, too, y'know...maybe?

Yeah, I expect to like the game just fine when I'll actually get to play it, but seeing how the game industry is these days, it's best not to take everything at face value.

That's a bit of a stretch...

I don't know how they picture her going into combat wearing just a shirt. Maybe DA stands for Dead or Alive now.

Ah...no.
Although if she stuffed some water filled animal bladders in her top then maybe.:)
I actually defended some of the new female proportions as being possible(not likely but possible) without enhancement but that picture of the DA2 Isabela is just ridiculous.
I finished watching the movie 'Zombie Strippers' this morning and the fake breasts on a particular famous porn star were smaller than this. Way to go BioWare!

The proportions are a bit off, but that doesn't bother me. If the game itself does not give you body-adjustment options, someone will come out with mods to change the shapes soon enough. Natural Bodies: All in One is proof that if the fanbase is not satisfied with existing options, they'll make new ones.

Her breasts have shrunk! They're magic boobies! :)
I hope that dagger is not double edged. Someone might want to advise Isabela that it's not a good idea to hold a blade that close to one's neck and face. I'm not sure about the thigh highs but I like some of the arm protection. Although the pad around the elbow looks like her hobbies include a spot of skateboarding.

Grey Wardens have an article on Isabela, it's titled The Siren's Call.
