Hello,

I think the chapter orders are screwed up in when playing BG (big world standard, removed conflicting mods). I was on chapter 2 and did not even visit nashkel yet as soon as I entered nashkel it started chapter 3, I thought chapter 3 wasn't supposed to start until after the bandit quest.. I am not sure when the chapter order messed up. Is this normal??

Also if I start the new chapter in nashkel can I still go back to beregost and pick up the previous chapters quests if I didn't pick them up yet? I guess what I am asking are side quests only available in certain chapters or are they just one big pool that can be picked up at anytime.

I noticed that for my quest log chapter 1 is blank, chapter 2 has a bunch of quests that I picked up in beregost/friendly arms inn (i.e. kill the cleric etc). Chapter 3 is showing stuff I picked up in nashkel like investigate mines etc.

In the later BGT(-WeiDU)'s, the chapter number has been +1 to the regular BG1.. so it's normal.

The reason for this is that the "Tutorial chapter" has been removed from BG2, so you actually start from chapter 1 in BG1.

Thank you very much for your help. Can I still pick up chapter 2 quests in Beregost if I have already started Chapter 3 (is it one big pool of quests)? Basically I ran to Nashkel right away because my party wouldn't shut up about it.

It depends on how the mod that added them was coded... but usually, yes.

Thanks again for your help. Just one more question.. (sorry I am a newb first time playing)

Does it even matter if I go to Nashkel right away? I would really like to try to complete the quests in Beregost before moving on but Jahera won't shutup. Will she actually leave if I take my time? I have heard some people say that she will just complain a bunch but will never leave while other people say that her and Kahlid will leave your party if you don't go to Nashkel right away.

They shouldn't really leave your party, except when your reputation goes off to the wrong way and depending on the mods that are installed, they sometimes won't even do that... the last time I played the BG1 part, they never really even said a thing... but you of course have a few times more mods installed than I did... but basically, you have no rush to go anywhere, you can even go to lurk the areas surrounding the BG city, because you won't be allowed to go inside because that is controlled by the chapter and some impassable areas... so you don't need to hurry up, it's just dialog and that's all...
