Try placing the tobex loader files that are needed in the Baldurs gate 2 directory. (note when you instead the weidu mod it will normally place the required files in the main directory. Note the execution file that you need to run is in the main directory not the "core" directory of the tobex loader. If you got vista try turning off desktop composition. :D

when you say "try placing the tobex loader files that are needed in the Baldurs gate 2 directory", i'm not sure of what files you mean specifically. do you mean files from TobEx\core?

I haven't done anything other than what is explained in this reddit post: http://www.reddit.co...ldurs_gate_and/
meaning that i JUST installed it, and now i don't know how to make it run.

now that i read it again, i tried moving my TobExLoader.exe file to my BGII - SoA folder. but when i try to run it, it takes a couple minutes to return an error window named Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn - Throne of Bhaal that says "-1" and then another that says "An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 834"

thanks for helping me!

Hello,

Same thing happened to me. After reading the included source of TobExLoader, the missing file appears to be BGMain.exe, which however exists in folder BGII - SoA. Executing this file starts the modified game. I was able to start a new game, and although I haven't been playing more than a few minutes, it seems to be working so far. I hope this helps.

I've got the same problem and nothing seems to work. I've tried clicking on the BGmain file and it just gives the same error. Did anyone come up with a fix on this?

Same error... there's 2 or three there.

First of all this:

Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn - Throne of Bhaal that says "-1"

Would indicate that the baldur.ini's [Alias] paths are off at the start, at least in the past I have seen a similar thing with my computer... it didn't just say "-1" though.

"An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 834"

As this is indication of non retrievable data as the path indicated doesn't exist.

That problem is easiest to solve before you even start moding the game.
So people, you should at least try to use all the indicated helpful hints in the pinned thread... the advice there is: "Start the game before you modify it." in a nut shell. If you still cannot make it work, then uninstall the BGII - SoA from the Control Panel, rwemove the game directory, and then reinstall the game, and it should solve the problem, as the reinstalls [Alias] section will be remade and thus the game will be able to be started.

PS, make the install to the Games -folder, or to the BWP -folder for example, not in the Program Files sub-directories...

Now, what comes to the original posts error, Hellcommander's help seemed to work for krisp.
