Hi, Berelinde! I personally have always had a secret soft spot for May-December romances, and I cannot begin to tell you how long I've been waiting for this mod to come about. So far, it has been TOTES BEAUTIFUL. :clap:

However, there are three or four questions I have for you, and they may or may not be spoilerish:

I am stuck on the fifteenth LT, and no amount of AdvanceRealTime, actually waiting the 10 minutes I chose during the installation process, or tinkering in Shadowkeeper can bring about the next LT. Did I do something wrong or miss something, and is there any possibility that I'm good to go ahead for ToB?

I'm not sure if this is a spoiler or not, so I'll hide it anyway--

Secondly, I have Jaheira in my party--and when I snooped around Shadowkeeper, I noticed a variable called B!KELROMJAH1 and the variable for it is 2. Is there a little something'-somethin' going on between Keldorn and Jaheira, and will it interfere with my PC's romance with him?

Any and all help is appreciated! ^___^

Glad you're enjoying it,but you may have to do a few more errands/quests/assorted adventuring or possibly do some advancing of real time in between the night talks. There are about 35 talks in all, plus another four "post-romance" ones that happen at widely spaced rest intervals. The last ones are entirely skippable, but you should defnitely wait until he gives you a keepsake before you head into ToB.

Hello Berelinde! I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already but I found a small bug with Edwin and Keldorn. I have no other mods installed. One of Edwin's conversations ("And *still* the knight...") with Keldorn repeats, no matter which reply is chosen. I tried kicking Edwin from the group, resting, having him rejoin, but the same conversation kept appearing so Edwin had to go. Other than that minor annoyance, so far so good. I already played through the SoA portion of the mod before and adored it. You've written Keldorn beautifully, very loyal to his personality, brilliant work. :)

Thanks for the reminder; I still need to fix that.

I can look up the variable for you to set to get that loop to stop, but that will have to wait until this evening.

If you've got Edwin in the party, you're going to eventually need to set this:

Here's a progress report. I'm really enjoying the slow build up of friendhsip and respect betweet my Frytha and Keldorn. I always found the Jaheira romance a bit creepy as it seemed to happen way too fast after the death of Khalid. The pace of the romance with Keldorn seems to be much more realistic in light of how recent the end of his marriage was. The lines you give him tie in well with the gentle dignity his character has always shown - suprising in someone who can be so fierce but there it is.

Problems - well only one so far. Initially both he and Haldamir were talking WAYYY to often. I realised I'd turned on the "NPCs make more interjections" option in G3's BG2Tweaks. This has given me similar problems with other romances and NPCs, so I turned it off. All was well till tonights gaming. I just started the "bumped into an old friend" quest and noticed something odd. Keldorn has been making a romance related comment everytime we enter a new area ... although very little time has passed. I haven't finished the quest yet (I need to sleep!) I'll let you know what happens in the next session. Let me know if you need more information.

btw I don't think Keldorn is old at all, and I don't really see this as a May/ december romance ... in reality he's probalby younger than I am :lol2: I think a dwarf who grew up with extra longlived wizards and has spent nearly the last decade travelling with elves, half elves, humans, and halflings would have long since ceased to care about the number of actual years someone has on them ... it's the person that counts, not the numbers. I'd love to have the option to tell Keldorn he isn't old!

Progress report - the love talks have slowed down a lot to about 1 every 8 hours or so (game time, not real time). The trouble is I've already got the gift, and I've only just started Chapter 3 (with Firkraags place, the Planar Prison and the Planar Sphere still to do ... that gives you an idea how fast this romance happened! The talks are beautiful - giving me choices that let me start out just being a good friend and then gradually becoming something more ... which really fists my PC and Keldorn as well.

Yeah, you've run out of talks and are into the "general conversation" talks that let you know that things are still going great... kind of. You know what he told you in the last talk, so you're going to have to wait for ToB for closure. He will have a few comments in Spellhold, though Bodhi won't be interested.

And yeah, pacing is tough. There are a lot of talks, but playing speed is relative. should I add more timer options? No idea about the area transition dialogues. I'll have a look at your weidu log and see if I spot any likely culprits. What is your romance speed?

Glad you're enjoying the talks, though! I'll see what I can do about adding that PID option. :)

Sorry for the delay in replying. I can't remember the speed for the romance.I am a very slow player as I do as much loot collecting as possible and always stash it so I can sell in bulk for the best prices ... and then I do some serious buying of kit. My motto "when the going gets tough the tough go shopping!"

Hello, Berelinde! You've done an impressive job. Being truly mature and believable, Keldorn romance had become one of my favourite ones.

Are you going to work with this mod furher (e.g. fixing Edwin repeating dialogue bug, translating the mod, boosting it etc). It would have been great to see this mod entirely completed...

Yeah, the non-beta version is definitely part of the plan. Unfortunately, like many modders, I have commitments that keep it lower on the priority list than it should be. The biggest of those commitments right now is Crossmod Banter Pack, which I'm sorry to say is still less than 50% ready for the next version up. Once that's out of the way, Keldorn will probably be the next thing, since it's pretty much ready to go with only minor refinements. When you see the next version of CBP come out, you'll know that Keldorn won't be far behind.

check the line and you will find the bugs easily.
if not be corrected, it will make edwin repeat the dialogue again and again.

I got this same dialogue-loop bug with Edwin(a) and Keldorn.  I guess it's not fixed/patched yet.  No worries!

 

 

If you've got Edwin in the party, you're going to eventually need to set this:

SetGlobal("B!KelRomEdw2","GLOBAL",2)

 

This worked ^_^

I think I may have found another bug. I've turned Keldorn down on my current playthrough, as my PC is romancing Edwin. Avoided the dialogue loop as stated above, then turned the romance off, and everything was happening normally until I hit Amkethran in ToB. After killing the mercenaries who where threatening Saemon Havarian, what appears to be a romance-related interjection starts, concerning how the mercenaries run rampant in the town. Keldorn's music starts playing, and he refers to my PC as "my love" at the end of the convo. But his PID menu is still the non-romanced one, and the Edwin romance is still active.

 

What I've seen of the early stages of the romance, however, encourages me to try the entire thing on my next playthrough :)

I'm really excited for this mod!! hope you are still working on it.

But it is not compatible with Baldur's gate EE?

 

I downloaded this, but it keeps giving me the error,
