EDIT: Figured it out. When I installed I chose C:\ expecting it to put all game files in a sub folder. When I saw it didn't I threw them all in a folder called torment, except I missed the Music folder. Probably won't help anyone in the future but in case anyone else suffers from similar stupidity I'll leave this here.

First of all thanks for all the hard work that obviously went into these mods.

I'm not sure if this forum is still active but I'll go ahead and post my problem and see.

Any known reasons why this would be occurring in Windows 7? I'm ultimately trying to get this running in osx w/ crossover but for now I'm getting it set up with vmware Fusion 3. I'll update this post if I figure it out or have any other insights.

Unfinished Business is depending on a Fixpack component as a prerequisite

I've had these sorts of installation problems disappear when using short and succinct DOS8.3-style path/filenames.  "G:\Games\Torment\" instead of "G:\Games\Black Isle Games\Planescape - Torment\", etc.  And letting anything install in "\Program Files\" or other OS-controlled folders is just asking for frustrations caused by the UA and Windows itself.  Perhaps this is overkill, but it does sometimes work when dealing with (third-party) mods and components.

Erhm, perhaps it's the "found." Message that makes your solution a little bit guestionable... and as there was no confrmation yet. And Korth saw a pattern ... I am not saying you could be wrong, just that your solution has an illogical miss in the pattern. And now I am speaking nonsense, thanks.

UB 1e. requires Fixpack 12a.

Ouh, yeah... and I remember one mod still requiring your BGII game folder needing to be "BGII - SoA". This is case by case. And just so you know on Windows 64, when you run the setup-modname.exe with a .bat file, it will have problems like say needing the admin priviliges(sp?) for without them it will spam you with the requirement messages and it won't make the changes because the .bat was run already by the time the first note comes to ask for them on the Admin account. Yeah, you can by pass that with setting the UAC off like you need to with every old game there is, but that's no "WEIDU mods do not have problems with UAC".

Yeah, the once that have been programmed to account for them. Say look at what the BGT-weidu does, it accounts for the possibility of the path having spaces and other directory format characters. But I don't think you can install the BGT if your BG1 game is in the C:\Pällit\Baldur's Gate\ -folder, because of the %C3%84 character, which is a with unlaut mark ontop of it.

I suggested a fix which has worked for me, for a similar but not identical problem, in the past.

 

But I failed to read the previous posts well enough to see the fix was already given.
