I'm currently trying to install Baldur's Gate Trilogy, but so far, I get the same error over and over :

------------------------------------------------------
Enter the full path to your Baldur's Gate installation
then press Enter.
------------------------------------------------------
C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\
----------------------------------------------------------------
Invalid Baldur's Gate directory, or
incorrect Baldur's Gate installation.

It is safe to abort this installation by closing this window, or
pressing Ctrl+Break three times.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Undetectable Windows version. Possibly too new. Installation MAY fail.
------------------------------------------------------
Enter the full path to your Baldur's Gate installation
then press Enter.
------------------------------------------------------

I tried adding the Data files of the DVD (I use a recent reedition) in the folder, I tried putting the folder in a folder with a simpler path, but so far, nothing has worked.

Currently installed are the 4 DVDs of the pack (BGI, TotSC, BGII and Throne of Baal), and the most recent official patches.

When you installed the BG1+TotSC+patch v(1.3.)5512, did you make a full(custom) install? Meaning that the game takes about 2.5 Gb's, as it copies all the content of the 'data' folders into the game folder... one way to check is the baldur.ini files [ALIAS] -headers(open the file with Notepad), as they should all point to a near the same place where the HD0 points.

Maybe you can manually check the files against the list at http://www.shsforums...ing-read-first/ and see if your DVD rendition is missing any of them.

I have the same problem. 100% correct install (clean baldurs gate + expansion install + newest patch). But it still says wrong directory or incorrect install. HALP!

the game is installed in: c:\games\baldursgate
which is also the location I tell the BGT installer

any way to force it to install? or is there a way to manually install?

Are you sure the directory is not in "c:\games\baldursgate\" ? There is a significant difference ... when it comes to coding this stuff. And make sure the baldur.ini's say that too...
PS, You also need to have a full install, one that takes about 2.5Gb space on the hard drive.

I did the custom install, checked every box. My install is 2.27gb.
This is the location copied directly from the adress box: C:\Games\Baldursgate
The baldur.ini says:
HD0:=c:\games\Baldursgate\
CD1:=D:\CD1\
CD2:=D:\CD2\
CD3:=D:\CD3\
CD4:=D:\CD4\
CD5:=D:\CD5\

Does it look correct?

Either you have never actually played the BG1 game so it makes an autosave, which is required to setup the game right, or your cache size is smaller than 1MB, or you didn't make a full install of the "Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast" which the BGT also requires.

:doh:
You have not installed the BG1 add-on at all(Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast), as you would have this line there too:
CD6:=D:\CD6\

I found the problem. Change the file path in your "BiG World Install.bat".
