BWP and Ascension

I was looking through the Big World Setup to make a new megamod installation, but I couldn't find Ascension in the list. After some looking around I found that the Big Picture mod seems to contain "a" version of Ascension, but is this the correct one? And will only selecting this component of BP cause any bugs or incompatibility issues with other mods that the setup won't detect?
Hope I can get some clarification on this matter

The forum search has been broken for the beginning of this year. The google can do the same, you just have to replace the 'BWS' with your own search parameters, but google is evil.I have a question concerning BWP and the Ascension mod... I wanted to first use the search function, but it appears to be broken.
Well, the newest BP v1.79 has been repaired of all the bugs that itself would cause... this is not to say that there are no harmful effects with other mods, but it's as clean as you'll get an Ascension mod with any megamod* compilation(*in this case, more than random number x mods). Meaning that it can be used as a solo component... with the SCSII. Or so is my assumption.I was looking through the Big World Setup to make a new megamod installation, but I couldn't find Ascension in the list. After some looking around I found that the Big Picture mod seems to contain "a" version of Ascension, but is this the correct one? And will only selecting this component of BP cause any bugs or incompatibility issues with other mods that the setup won't detect?
Hope I can get some clarification on this matter

I have one additional question. During the install the installer asks me whether I want to go with the SCS AI or the BP AI (or both). Which is safest to use?
EDIT: I've been reading about this same issue all over the place but I'm still not sure what's the safest thing to do. Installing BP-Ascension without SCS2 seems like the way to go (but I don't like having to miss out on its features...), but even that MIGHT cause problems in the game because it's missing files from the stand alone Ascension mod? And installing just the SCS2 AI will cause problems for the BP parts of the game then... And both is completely impossible because of glitches like liches melee attacking.
Is the best option to not start a new installation yet and wait for this issue to be resolved (last posts are from April though :/)

BP-Ascension contains BP's scripts ... BP's scripts aren't compatible with SCS scripts ... so in effect, BP-Ascension isn't compatible with SCS scripts
Yeah, a patch would solve the issue, but the question is - who'll do it??
@Ragura: It might be better to just choose BP AI during the install if you really really need Ascension. SCS doesn't get fully skipped even if you choose BP AI All the non-AI components would still be installed

EDIT: Unless of course, Ascension isn't really all that great... I've never played it, so I wouldn't know. I did think the end of ToB was too easy, that's why I wanted to grab that mod for sure... Hmmm, I'll have to think about the pros and cons some more

And even if it installs properly without BPv179, it probably uses its own versions of creature/item/spell names and stuff ... so SCS wouldn't probably give it it's Ascension scripts ... (and if BPv179 isn't installed, the Ascension creatures and stuff wouldn't have any scripts )

I made a quick test with my small tactic-installation and Illasera (or however she's called... the bhaalspawn in the ancient's grove) and her group have SCSII AI and killed me in some seconds. This doesn't mean that there couldn't be glitches. (I'm quite sure I'll find some...). I'm currently testing my installation, but I'm in Nashkel, so don't expect information too soon... At the moment I'd say: If one doesn't have problems in BG1 and in the ancient's grove, one should give it a try...
(Maybe the BP-scripts are all in the AI component and don't get installed, so SCSII doesn't have problems. Maybe SCSII is compatible with some BP-scripts, as it was before the update. Hm... I'll see...)

... for now, yes you can use just BP-Ascension but no it's not the same as BP + BP-Ascension.
Also have a look at this thread and this post from horred the plague
