Please post your in-game-bugs here(or in a separate topic) so people (like me) don't have to read stuff they are not interested in or don't know. The other/bloated thread should be for questions about the installation-process or errors that happened during the installation.

Please use this search before you start to put up questions that are solved, while the board-search of this site is broken. Just replace the BWP-string with your pattern.

I think some structure would not hurt.

So if you want to get your help faster, you might:

- Upload your compressed weidu.log as an attachment (please compress to save web-space)
- Use NearInfinity to pinpoint your problem
- Use the forum of the corresponding mod if you know where your issue belongs to
- Use text that is self-explaining if you create new topics. "I need help" does not give people a clue what you want from the start.
- Be exact. Tell us more stuff about the circumstances of your problem. You know these "who, when, why" - things.

I hope that this has some effect. ;)

[Spells per round]I think i'll double post here a prob with "Increase spells cast per round (188)" modifier on items. It does not work at all. Certain items like Warblade of Twilight and Belt of Magi have attribute "can cast 2 spells/round", but somehow it does not work at all. Alacrity spell(the same modifier with different params), however, works well.

[Misplaced strings] Sometimes(quite rarely) i find a beer called "quarterstaff +2 was created long ago by..." or a sign on some random church says "so, will you save my girl, puuwwwlease??". Usually signs are misplaced in mods, not in original game. Is it mod's bugs or bwp's?

[Dummy items] Occasionally i encounter chests, tables and bandit corpses with an item without an image. If i pick it up, it will be impossible to drop it. What's the problem?

If you give the exact strings (exactly exact :P) I could try to track down which mod the strings come from and hopefully, why they're misplaced :)

Tried searchin for "so, will you save my girl, puuwwwlease??" and even just "save my girl" and it didn't show anything :unsure:

After a lot of gameplay that was mostly bug free, I've encountered two problems.

1)The xp cap remover from BG2 tweaks doesn't work. Xp is stuck at 2.95 million. And yes it is installed.

2)The TBTweak fix for imprisonment has been messed with by another mod. The fix stops the game ending with imprisonment on PC. In my game the spell would just crash the game. Ended up replacing with the original spell. The game ends when its cast, but doesn't ctd. (Also maze spell on PC ends the game, it didn't originally do that.)

Can I use the xp cap remover mod (not the BG2 tweak one) for BG2 without ruining my install? (It looks like it just puts 2da files into the override) Because I'm probably only about halfway through the game and haven't even been to Spellhold yet (damn mods...)

Can I use the xp cap remover mod (not the BG2 tweak one) for BG2 without ruining my install? (It looks like it just puts 2da files into the override) Because I'm probably only about halfway through the game and haven't even been to Spellhold yet (damn mods...)

Are you sure it's a cap, not a script that's cheesing up the game? Say you have a meanie that has 5 000 000 xp all of a sudden(with a cheat), you save the game, load it and hups you only have 2.95 mil....
If there is no such script, then I suggest that you copy the .2da file from the BG2Tweaks folder into the override folder, as you already have the mod installed(so you can't reinstall it!).
Edit:Or better yet, download the attachment I'll add(and extract the file into your override folder), as that's the only file you need if you have the remade xpcap.

Thank you Jarno! You are correct again. It first showed up when I saved a game where Edwin and a couple of others had levelled up. On reload they were down 200,000 xp (and there was no level up icon on them). So I added it in with Shadowkeeper, and when the save loaded they still were only at 2.95 million. What script could cause that?

If it matters - the group just gained a lot of xp in the Close to Home quest of CTB after fighting endless spawns.

It might be greater if one could actually print out the baldur.bcs as a .baf file... also it might be good to investigate the matter with a --change-log's from the file(here is how, the answer #6 :P )... but by only those that have the 'bug'.

Created a new BGI chara, SetCurrentXP(30000000), Ctrl-Q, Loaded the quicksave again .... TADA!!! His XP got reduced ... :unsure:

Hi guys,

I've just installed a standard installation of BWP and run into some issues. After spending a few hours over the installation (a few minor archives were corrupted, I've downloaded some (not all of them though, links appeared to be faulty too) manually and proceeded with the installation) I was finally able to start again. Ot I would be, were it not for the game not being able to find the dvd in the drive (I have the Polish edition of the Baldur's Gate Saga). I've found that restoring the Baldur.ini [Alias]'es section to as it has been only after the plain installation has solved this particular issue (BWP installer was throwing a bug at me unless I've added the CD1-5 paths there).

So... The game started and seemed to run flawlessly. I had one or two assertion errors, but those were random and so didn't bug me very much. However, after the Candlekeep prologue, when I try to exit the location and enter the world map, I gen an CTD assertion error that doesn't want to get away.

I'm not sure what I should include in this report; here are the last entries form my Baldur.log file:

i meet the same problem.

i find if i don't install SCSII,the experience is ok ,but after i install SCSII,my party's experience is only 2.95 million after load my saved file.

i can't find why SCSII will cause it

I've put Jarno's xpcap into my override and overwrite my own,but my party's experience is still 2.95 million

Just tried again, in windowed mode. The error stays with me though.

An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 1246
Programmer says: ChDimm.cpp CDimm:Demand(): CRes pointer invalid CHeck Baldur.log for missing resource)

And the new log entries are the same as earlier.

I don't see anything in that .baf that would reduce your XP to the SoA cap.
If it was a script that caused it, it would happen in real time and not only (?) after you've loaded a save.

Ouh, they can? As I remember that certain BGT area scripts always spawned monsters when you saved and loaded a game, so you ended up with a horde of different monsters all sitting in the same point(actually they weren't over each other but there were quite lot of them)...

So, unless you can prove that there is no such a script that has 'SetCurrentXP(2950000)' within them... yeah, that's what the NI was made for, so go search ...

@new Mike, sorry I didn't see your post in the other topic. Its so long that stuff gets buried in there. Good to know I'm not the only one with the problem. ;)

No hits for SetCurrentXP(2950000) or even SetCurrentXP(295 :P BUT but but ... doing a string search of 2950000 in my mod folder gave these ...

SetCurrentXP is not an action. It doesn't exist outside of the CLUAConsole. Additionally, there is no action for setting XP, only for incrementing or decrementing XP. Maybe it's done via a spell. I think the XP effect can be used to set XP.

You may want to use the bigg's stutter-finding code and see if there are any script blocks that fire when you load your save. At the very least it should narrow the problem down and/or keep you from barking up the wrong tree.
