Cutscene where Bhaal, Midnight and some others start fighting crashes the game.
Cutscene starts after Nomoran sends party through portal at area ZCAVE5.

Then i get error message:

"An Assertion failed in ChVidImage3d.cpp at line number 899"

The crash happens in the middle of the cutscene, non?? Could you open your savegame in Shadowkeeper and tell us what all the variables (GLOBALs and LOCALS) starting with "Z" are set to?? :)

OR

Tell us any line from the cutscene ...

OR

Tell us how the cutscene plays out (before the crash :P) ... characters etc

Anyway, the error says something freaked out with animations and there was a CreateVisualEffect() fix for ZBERGE.baf (which you may not have in your game if it's kinda old :P)

You start in area ZCAVE5, talk with Nomorran and tell him "OK, let it pass through us." You warp to a new area directly into a cutscene. The cutscene starts with "Cyric, I give you the courage to kill Bhaal". I added a Zip file with screen caps of the Globals, how can I get the Locals and is there any easier way than screen caps?

My BWP setup is old. It's manual BG2 only BWP 8.1 install. I just wanted to play it to the end of ToB. Then i plan to make new BWP 9.1 install.

Crash happens at ZDREA2 after fight begins and if i remember correctly
Bhaal dies and Cyric tries somenthing (Greater Whirlwind maybe? :unsure: ). Then game crashes. I think that Mystra didn't get to say "We have to leave here, you know what happens!" :unsure:

Only if i read correctly ZDREA2.BCS at Near Infinity. I'm no modder, i'm just player who's been lurking here for many years. :whistling:

I don't have the saves anymore because i'm already at ToB. I removed them last night. Sorry. :crying:

What i did was.

SetGlobal("ZDREAM2CUT","GLOBAL",1)
And then CLUA:Console myself to ZCLIFF and moved on.

I'm not sure about any another Globals. :unsure:

By the way the mod has very nice "english". :lol:

Unfortunately i'm not there yet. I made new BWP at end of may and i'm been playing ever since. I'm at BG2 chapter 2 and because it's sooo long with these new BP megamods it's taking me awhile more the reach to Anegh. So fingers cross.

But more recent and much more serious problem.

I'm expericing an other crash. Here's starting info.

It started at Bridge after i get the cutscene from Check the Bodies quest Of Elves and Artifacts. Eleanor Ybgir comes and gives the unremovable statue. Then i go to Trademeet to meet her. After Trademeet map loads game crashes.

Well i though that crashes happen sometimes so a loaded the autosave from Bridge and enter a again to Trademeet. No crashes so i go to Temple of Waukeen as instructed. After talks with Eleanor she leaves. I go out and cutscene should start. Usually it crashes after loading the Trademeet map. Once i did see the cutscene but game crashed after that.

I start to worry and loaded previous save before entering the Bridge. After i entered the Bridge nothing happens no Eleanor no crash so i though that everything is ok. So i continued like nothing's wrong and i decided to go City Gates and Horred's lair at Sewers. By the way i can't open container that holds Wizard's Buckler +2 but that's a minor issue.

When i came out from sewers it crashed just like in Trademeet.

So it looks like it pretty random and it probably have nothing to do with Check the Bodies. As far as i can tell. And i don't know nothing about modding and Weiduing. I'm just power gamer. :twisted:

I continue experimenting tomorrow.

Ps I still have this Waukeen traveling problem.

We (Jastey, since White Agnus is not active anymore, as it seems) could change the two handed sword to a one handed sword, but it would be much better to know which mod adds the shield. Is it the creature slot fixer? That would be very interesting... Sadly, we didn't get a response at Kerzenburg...

Somebody please have a look, which z_bhaal (from the backup olders) works fine and which not. Or actually, Fouinto, you had no problems anymore after you threw the cre from the backup of the creature slot fixer into the override?

(And who is responsible for the creature slot fixer?)

Creature Slot Fixer does not add shields - it in fact (the one I did anyway) would actually fix it by moving the shield to inventory for a case like that, because otherwise it would cause a crash.

(And who is responsible for the creature slot fixer?)

Taimon (who is not active) if you mean the "zeroed-offset" creature fixer; the other one is something I did.

Do a --change-log on the .cre to see which mods affected it. Then you can look at the resulting *000*.cre files in your game folder to figure out which mod added the shield.

Using Z_BHAAL.00006.CRE (rename it to Z_BHAAL.CRE and put it in the override folder) remove the CTD.

Well that is odd then, because Z_BHAAL.00006.CRE *is* the last CRE affected according to that log (and should be the one already in the override).

Edit: unless there's a Z_BHAAL.00007.CRE but I don't think so... anyway if you have the last 2 CREs produced by the change-log can you attach them. I don't see the same issue on my install.

I am very sorry but I am not a modder (even in my dream !), I have only learned a few tricks (opening an area or a script with NI or DLTCEP and using change-log) when reading others posts that allows me to try to track down bugs I encounter... Your new problem is far beyond my capabilities...
However, I read this forum for about a year and I can tell you that there are a lot of people helping others !

Well according to all that, it never had a shield equipped. Moreover, CRE Fixer never touched it according to the log - it had no reason to since it seems it was always ok. Could be a scripting issue, I dunno. You said it might be zdrea2.bcs but I can't see how unless EquipMostDamagingMelee also equips a shield. There are other issues with the same mod's prefix though (that the CRE Fixer probably fixed). Maybe someone should look at them.

I did some experimenting and found out that crashing was caused by Ginpachi (adginpac.cre) from Angelo NPC mod. But the problem isn't Angelo mod because when i look the backups in mod folders Infinity Animations have it and by copying it to override folder removes the crash. I'm not sure is it last change of the file because i can't do the changelog (I was stupid and run the cleanup bat after install was done). So i can't point my finger on Infinity Animations.

My play session continues onward.

I haven't any crashes after replacing the file. Ginpachi is timed event after getting the sword from Sawara. It's happens at OUTDOOR area and that's why it's at happens ramdon areas around Amn. Crash happened City Gates, Slums, Bridge and Trademeet if i'm remembered correctly.
