Hey peeps,

I've used BP and the megamod for quite some years now (always with bugs due to too many mods and wrong installation order), and I must say this new development is a HUGE step in making it more userfriendly. THUMBS UP :)

A few days ago I installed BWP / BWS Tactics version and it went smooth (apart from 2 NPC mods it said that wasn't extracted), and I used the widescreen mod to change resolution to my native 1680*1050 and it looks great.

But after playing it for some hours I find that I'm squinting my eyes, cause the text and gfx is too small. Is there some foolproof way to change this after all the biffing has been done?

Thanks in advance :)

Well, erhm.
Actually it depends on the mods that were installed last, so open the WeiDU.log, and copy-paste the few last lines at the end of it, that include the setup-widescreenmod.tp2 and everything after it and few lines before.

You can uninstall the ToBEx, the Taimon Hacks, the Generalized Biffing, the Cre Fixer and then the Widescreen mod, then reinstall the new Widescreen mod with the new resolutions and then reinstall everything after that, but it will take a lot of time, but it should be less than a whole new game from the BWS backup... You also will have to, definitely, start a new game as the old will probably crash in loading a save or anywhere there after.

Now if you installed the End Biff, you'll need to start from a fresh install, cause that mod doesn't keep usable backups. And if you have installed the BWP-cleanup, it will also brake the uninstallings, so in that case it's back to the BWS backup too.

So if I start a BWP game with Widescreen Mod at a set resolution, then for any reason (new computer, new screen, new graphic card...) change the resolution I'm playing at, that means the current game will be b0rked ? That would be a major inconvenience, as it would effectively tie any game with Widescreen to its initial resolution selection. :crying:

Well, I can only guarantee this action. So if you reinstall the mod, and load a previously made savegame it might work, but it might as well crash your game everytime you'll load the game, or go into one of the smaller/larger maps... it will even give you a special Assertion Error releted to this stuff, I'll dig it out for you when I have the time, as it's not in this list. Mhh, I should make a topic out of it, actually so I can link to it in the FAQ. :whistling:

Just a small question: Why would you want to run widescreen before the biffing?
I know that some files are changed, but is it worth it performance-wise (related to the hours it may take to de- and reinstall gen_biff)?
THINK! - It's not illegal.
