Not really... make so darn sure that ... that you install the game into a directory not in Program Files folder if you have Windows Vista, 7 or the Service Pack 3 XP Windows... and that the baldur.ini files [Alias] -directories are correct, and that you copy that into the BGII - SoA's andswer, and that it has "BGII - SoA" in it.The problem is that the installer won`t understand that i have full game installed - it says i don`t have 25movies.bif file in certain folder ( i have a dvd ersion of both bg1 and bg2 and it installs a bit diffrently than old versions - i have all movies in folder movies not in cdx/movies) even if i create this folder and copy the fille there it still won`t acknowledge its existance and i don`t want to do manual install again. Is there any way to skip this check?

Well then, how large is the game folder without any mods installed(about, with the accuracy of ~0.1 Gb's)... and make sure that this reads in the baldur.ini ...the directory is C:\Games\BGII - SoA so there is nothing wrong with it and it was installed here so alliases are good as well...
[Alias] HD0:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\ CD1:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD1\ CD2:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD2\ CD3:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD3\ CD4:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD4\ CD5:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\CD5\including all the \ 's.
And what Operation System do you have ? Windows ???

and as i said before i don`t have cdx directories so my alliases look like that
[Alias]
HD0:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD2:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD3:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD4:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\
CD5:=C:\Games\BGII - SoA\
My system is Windows Vista ( yeah i turned off User Account Control)
Edit
Thanks for help - my alliases didnt have \ at the end of lines after adding them it started to work properly

just some problem with BWsetup v9.3.
the program keeps telling me it can`t download some mod (like adalons bloot, or volcano armory) even when the links inside the debug File are correct and double-clicking on them makes the download effectively starts.
once the mods are manually downloaded and pasted into /BWPdownloads folder, the program still can`t recognize `em and keeps telling me to delete them from the list before going on to avoid further problems.
when checking dependancies, the program says BP recquires MTScrappack: now, i checked the components and don`t get it.
MTScrappack is a tweak mod and i do not like it at all, that`s why i decided to avoid its installation.
but, while BP is in a white line, MTS crappack is showed in orange and right-cliking on it gives me two options:
1)install MTS crappack alongside with BP, which is a no-no IMO.
2)do not install MTS crappack AND BP, which is illogical.....i just want to install BP.
that`s the point where i close the application and start to install manually what i want.....

If the files are acknowledged also depends on the filesize and name listed in the BiG World Setup\Config\Mod.ini. Several circumstances may have interfered with the BWS and thus those values may be wrong.
You can either make sure those values are valid and retry to run the test again or remove the mods you have downloaded from the [Faults]-section in the BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini. Make sure the filenames are correct in the Mod.ini if you do the later one since extracting files with a false name will result in an error later.
MTS is needed to play BP with D0Questpack.
Remove the line 18=D:SETUP-BPV180.exe:-:SETUP-MTS_CRAPPACK.exe:- from the BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini and the BWS should stop complaining.

this should be stated in the conflict window (for consistency), because it`s missing, as for now it`s simply stated that BP needs MTS crappack which is untrue, if i get it correctly.
if a player installs BP AND Ding0 tweakpack he needs the moongaze patch included in MTS crappack to avoid conflicts.
and now let me download it...
EDIT: and yes, double dependancies:even ding0 quest pack needs it.

The stable version of the BWS cannot handle more than A needs B.
The beta can do much more than that. A needs B AND C, A and B need C, A need B or C and so on.
Every dependency has a small description and the dependencies are component based.
And as you might have read or guessed, you can select and install components.
@Arkenor:
The mod has not been maintained since a year or two. Whoever has an interest in doing so has a permission to do so. At least the modder said he'd be even willing to help to get to know the code.
Well, since that's some time ago, I doubt that he'd be able to help in the way he could have back then, but I did not read about a change of his decision.

BP-Balancer? At any rate, I'm not trying to accuse anyone of anything. I just thought I'd bring the issue to someone's attention. I would not feel comfortable taking over maintenance of a mod, because frankly I'm not that good, and Weidu hurts my head.

Since BP-Balancer appears to delete plot-critical items, I'm not sure you could do much worseI would not feel comfortable taking over maintenance of a mod, because frankly I'm not that good, and Weidu hurts my head.

Oh my. I always had it set just to reduce xp, and leave the gear alone. Perhaps it's xp-lowering duties could be merged into XPMod?

My problem is that when I run the Big World Install.bat, after choosing my settings, the main DOS window reads "Processing BG1 fixes" and a blank DOS window with the name (_utils\patch.exe) pops up and remains blank while the install DOS freezes. I closed the blank DOS and I am then prompted by the install DOS to "termniate batch file (y) or (n)?" if I choose "NO", the blank DOS pops up again. If "YES" the install DOS closes....so how can I fix this?
I'm using Vista BTW.

You have Vista, so you do what you must:....so how can I fix this?
I'm using Vista BTW.
Read the pinned topics. Yes the SHSForums search function has been off-line like I state in the answer #14. See the corruption grow ? I'll just quote myself from now on.2.) The common Windows Vista and Windows 7 problems.
...
2. The common Windows Vista and Windows 7 problems.
Don't install the game to the Program Files sub-folders(it's actual name changes according to your Operation System language selection), this is because the Windows Vista and 7 protect the folder, with an extra security layer that actually mirrors the overwritten files into another directory, so your changes will not take effect if you don't launch the game under a compatibility mode, under the Vista.
In Windows 7, the changed files are actually written into your User Profile's Virtual Storage...
2.1 Disabling your User Account Control, in Vista and W7.
Now, Windows Vista and Windows 7 have these annoying new features called User Account Control, which even with Admin permissions stop everything mod related, as it prevent programs from altering other programs, at least without your permission, which in turn says that you have to re-enter the program code after the permission is given to the said program which doesn't suit with BiG Worlds programs cause the user didn't code program, nor typed the .exe's need special features to actually do things they do. You disable this feature by going this path in;
Vista: Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control on or off -> Uncheck the box next to 'Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer', and push OK, and then restarting the computer, in annoyance...
W7: Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Change Your User Account Control settings... set to the bottom most option and done, and then restarting the computer, in annoyance...
2.2 Disabling the Program Compatibility Assistant on Windows 7.
To increase this annoyance, the clever idiots at the MacroHard have invented this assistant that always asks: 'Did this x program install successfully?' on 32bit system, and in 64bit system it can and will stop you from overwriting useful files, like the BGMain.exe when you upgrade the SoA to ToB.
To remove it push the Start -> type to the console: gpedit.msc and start it, then User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Application Compatibility
Double click the option "Turn off Program Compatibility Assistant", and inside its configuration mark the "Enabled" -> Apply -> OK. Restart the computer.
2.3 Why, install in non-Program Files folder, disable the UAC, and the PCA?
Well, cause we need to, and because we can enable the UAC after the BWS(BiG World Setup.vbs) and BWI(BiG World Install.bat) have run their procedures to completion. Or you go through the horror of making manually all the installation.
2.4 And why we need to ?
Think about it. Because the game wasn't originally designed to use user profile's virtual storage, because the original game engine was made in 1990's(released 1998), not in 2006 when the Virtual Storage first became commonly available with Windows Vista.

The BWP is a true work of art. I installed the mod some time ago and it went without a hitch and played a lot. However, I have changed my PC and had to reinstall the game from scratch and now I can't make it work.
Install goes smooth and fast and all seems well. However, when I load up my old saves, the map looks like this: http://imgur.com/p8cvf.jpg
I cannot zone from the current position as the game window's itself into a black screen and then nothing happens. I have to close it from task manager. This is with the "recommended" install, I will try the basic install as well, perhaps that will work.

When you reinstall BWP, you must start a new game.
Start a new game and your problem should disappear.
Hope this helps
