Darn, my hunch was off... well, make sure that there is a BGTWAV.BIF in the C:\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\DATA\ -folder, and then you should say what's its size?

If I make a Tactical install and edit out the 0 component of BP

Erhm, I don't think you need to edit a thing, as you can choose the tactical install and SCS AI, instead of the BP AI or the SCS&BP mixed AI... as this way you should still get the BP's Ascension component. I could be wrong...


well thats interesting... when i created the bogus bgtwav.bif it was like a 3kb text file originally... but now in my data folder its a 320,000kb .bif

The BWS and PDF should probably be updated for the next revision to reflect that.

Well yeah, perhaps... but the .pdf will only be updated when a major version of BWS comes out, with the components that it used... and the BWS v9.1 still used the A6XPPatch and A6CharmPatch 'es... it's most likely been updated by now... but that's just common sense, nothing else.

Those files have nothing in common... see the .bif file is made from a directory called BGTWAV(during the BGT's install), it's just packed into more readable data version when it's biffed.

My sorceress can only cast 2 spells per day instead of 3 at level 1. Is there a way I can check which mod/component caused this and perhaps fix the problem (maybe there is a 2da or something which can be edited :whistling: )?

Anyway, on to the real issue. I'm not sure which mod it is, the one that comes after I kill Irenicus involving Cyric and a floating castle, but when I try to enter the castle, the game gets stuck on Loading and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to close BG2. I'll try to figure out which mod it's in while I'm waiting for any advice y'all may have, cause it's a gamestopper, unless I maybe try to load my save game into ToB. I don't really want to attempt THAT, however, due to the large number of mods Recommended+ added on...not sure how well a new game in ToB would react to my current Globals, etc.

Guh, no luck finding a mod among those I selected that mentions it. If anyone interested needs a summary of the quest to figure out which it is, just ask...I don't wanna post it here due to potential spoilers, and I'm too tired to figure out how to make a Spoilers thingie like that guy up there did. Anyway....a fix for this would be appreciated, or a workaround...just, something to let me continue my journey. I've spent the last several days up almost 20 hours a day with this party, trying to reach max level before I smash that throne-stealing gutterslag like the trash she is, and I'd *really* hate to start over, since I *DESPISE* Baldur's Gate 1.

Actually, thinking about it, starting over wouldn't help at all, since I can't seem to avoid the questline and continue on to Throne of Bhaal. I can choose to come back later so I can be warped to Candlekeep, but if I leave the celebration, when I re-enter, the Temple of Rillifane is EMPTY, with Ellesime and her wizard nowhere to be found. So ummm...in the meantime, I'll reload my Irenicus save, Ctrl+Y him to death so as to spare myself the effort of cheesing him to death with long-range summons, and try continuing without going back to Candlekeep.

Workaround Discovered: The Temple in which the ending ceremony takes place is AR2812. Leaving the Temple and re-entering takes me to AR2803, therefore, in order to progress in the (mainline?) quest, I'd have to CLUA back to 2812. However, this still doesn't let me enter the castle, nor go to ToB.
Hmmmm...side-effect of warping back using CLUA found! After coming back, you can Save and Rest once again. Before leaving AR2812 after defeating Irenicus, you get Monsters Are Nearby when trying to save or rest.

It may be the level-50 ruleset from Big Picture or The Darkest Day or possibly another mod. Among other things it changes things so Sorcerers start out at each spell level with two casts per day instead of three. The 2da in question is mxsplsrc.2da and editing it should be straightforward but tedious.

So I have a relatively simple question, and I hope it has not already been asked. I attempted a forum and google search but... *shrugs* I installed recently the Big World Project. I did not install Hard Times mod. (This is the only thing I've found to remove it) However, all those nifty things lying around in the beginning of the game, like the diamond in the tree, the RoP+1 in the rock, and the famous Ring of Wizardry is gone from the Friendly Arm Inn. I was wondering if there was another mod that removes these items from the game? I have been spending the past couple hours pouring through the pdf and can't seem to find an indication on what might have done this.

I was wondering if there was another mod that removes these items from the game?

Item Randomiser will randomise all three items. You should find them eventually.

Hey all, I downloaded big picture and installed the megamod at the 2nd largest size, essentially all the mods possible without damning the game to crashing every few minutes.

It has been going quite well so far however now I am about level 7 and I am trying to clear out the basilisk map but I keep on getting frozen by greater basilisks, even with a scroll of magic protection and mirror eyes. Does anyone know why this is the case?

Also, what is the difference between big picture and big world, and how come I can't find a forum dedicated to big world?

Try Protection from Petrification (lvl 1 Arcane), but I think it's the same as Potion of Mirrored Eyes.
Big Picture is a mod, Big World Project is an automated megamod install tool for BG. This forum is dedicated to it, i think. :whistling:

No, you can attempt the megamod install, the BWS will ask you where your game files can be found. Just don't forget to correct the paths in the Alias section of baldur.ini and start the game with ToBExLauncher.exe or BGMain.exe after the BWP installation.

edit: i've a few issues to solve. I couldn't download 2 files (paladin of faerun kitpack and solestia NPC) because the download sites are down. I guess solestia could be skipped but i'd like to install the paladin kits. Is there a place where i could find that file besides the original site?

edit3: since there is a mod named "throne of bhaal extender" which adds a scroll bar to the kit window. Does that mean that i can install any number of kits?

Thanks for the help, scroll of protection from petrification worked (Cost 1,800 though), disbanded my party and soloed the map with my main char, got several thousand XP. Dunno why mirror eyes didn't work, though it seemed to protect from regular basilisks.
Now that you mention it, this forum does look dedicated to big world, at first I thought it was a general help forum for mega mods.

I believe I uploaded it to somewhere... here.

I think the game has a limit of 255 kits that can be assigned, as the .cre file cannot have more than 2^8 possibilities in that number. So don't overdo it, and know that the Refinements mod should divide that number by two, as it should double the kit number when it installed.

That number, even halved down, should still be sufficient for my purpose, since i would avoid installing the huge number of kits from both TDD and SoS, and would install kits from other mods (divine remix, sword and fist, rogue rebalancing, paladins of faerun, prestige kitpacks, SPS, RTT, RoT and others). I guess those will be sufficient to have a good variety among all classes...<br><br>Thanks for the file Jarno Mikkola<br><br>edit: on a side note, would it be better to install all the kits and then remove the ones i don't want with kit remover, or modify the bat and not install TDD and SoS kits?<br><br>

If you can edit the .bat (as you need to do it after the BWS has run into completion which then runs the .bat, which you need to quit, edit, save, and then rerun), I would say that it's best to not install the kits you do not want to*... this is because the removed kits' might still leave ghosts. The best way to check would be to check the Kit.ids file before the generalized biffing is done(to save time).

*This is partially the reason why I am making the MegaModKits mod. :P

Doesn't the ToBEx allow more than 255 kits through the KitPack option since Beta 0005? I beleive I have 278 kits in my current installation, though I didn't count ingame.

Kit is stored as a dword (4-byte value) not a byte value in the .cre file. So something like 4.3 billion possible values in theory, though even if allowing for only a 2-byte value, you'd still have some 65,000+ possibilities.

Why are people still playing BWP 9.0 and posting to this topic? Isn't there a 9.2 now?
