Run regedit.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\CodePage and set the key ACP to 1252.
That's the value the IA-setup is checking for.

Thanx a lot mate...
I've already download the mods, going to install

Another question to whoever is here, have you played Vecna mod?

Hey, this is more a request than anything else -- I'm not sure where this should go -- but it might be nice if Amaurea's BG1 and BG2 portraits could be included. There are WeiDu portrait packs available at G3.

As it stands, I'll just install it on top of finished BWS installation, which I imagine will be fine, but ye know.

Do you use a proxy?
If yes you will have to set the proxy for wget. You will have to edit Includes\*net.au3 and set the parameter for the wget-command - or you can try to set the proxy in a cmd-session and launch the BWS from there.

Do you use a firewall?
If you did not allow AutoIt3.exe to connect to the internet, you will not get the expected response.

any ideas? the game is practically unplayable this way...

Hi,
I have installed BWP and now every time when I enter Gnoll stronghold game crashes. There were few crashes before but there was allways way to avoid it. Don`t know about this one.
ASSERTION FAILED!
File: ObjCreature.cpp
Line: 12162

Exp: pCreature != NULL && creatureSize > 0

Msg: no msg.
Run Debugger?

Any ideas?

I'm sorry, but who maintains the Big World Project at this time? I was under the impression that (for example) the Big World Fixpack had to be constantly updated whenever a mod updated, that it patched. Otherwise the installation could be ruined and/or buggy etc. Now the BWP (as a whole) seem to not be updated.

From what I understand, Leomar took a timeout from here, and this is in no way critisism towards him (I really wish him well in his troubles/happyness that took his attention from here) but the question still remains, is this project as good as dead now then? And is it even safe to use it for installations until it gets actively updated again?

Or have I misunderstood this whole thing?

Yes.

Yes, as this is not exactly true:

Because the patching processes are clever, and you are actually posting in the wrong thread, as the latest version is BWP v9.3... dam di dam.

Was it the v9.0? Dam di dam...
And have you this, it's needed for the v4 of the Aurora's Shoes and Boots mod...
Yes, that's just my best guess.

Thank you for the answers, Jarno :) (about the ongoing progress of BWP)

It's worth mentioning that I am *not* the same guy that posted about his error:

"Hi,I have installed BWP and now every time when I enter Gnoll stronghold game crashes. There were few crashes before but there was allways way to avoid it. Don`t know about this one.

It's just a coincidence (I never realized there was someone else posting as litterally "guest" above me) so my apologizes for any confussion, carry on :)

does anyone know what would cause the readme's for each mod to keep popping up and interrupting during the installation? (i have to close notepad for each one for it to continue. sometimes it will state "Press any key to continue" after which the readme will pop up)

The BWS calls the BiG World Install.bat and then ends.
The batch asks some questions and starts to install.
It seems like the Smoothpack was not installed properly though. It is responsible for suppressing these pop-ups. Maybe it has to do with some reconstructions for the last version.

You can try to run it manually by calling another cmd-session, the cd /D to your BG2-folder.
Then execute CALL ".\BiG World Installpack\BiG World Smoothpack.bat"

Tell us what happens. It should patch some files...
It's save to do so since the smoothpack is the last one of the BWPacks to be installed.

Well, yeah. The Smoothpack just removes some lines with pauses and readmes from batch-files or tp2-files.
Not that big deal.

Hello good people!

I am much pleased and pleasantly suprised by the amount of modding done here. BigWorld made my day!
Went exeedingly smooth to install! (althou it took a while :D)

The one single thing I a have some problems with however game-related however.
In the game after modding, all enemy wizards get contigencies and sequences automatically, making them a good bit harder to beat, (not to say impossible at the moment) . I do not wish it to be so; but finding the mod resonsible is...well..I figured you folks got a better chance than I have at it, being more involved. Any help appreciated.

I selected a normal install with all safe content to be installed.

Have a look at SCS/SCSII. Make sure you don't select the smarter components. As an example, here is SCSII, components for mages.

6150=Smarter Mages -> Mages cast some short-duration spells instantly at start of combat, to simulate pre-battle casting
6151=Smarter Mages -> Mages only cast short-duration spells instantly at start of combat if they are created in sight of the PC
6152=Smarter Mages -> Mages never cast short-duration spells instantly at start of combat
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Ahh I see. I never got a chance to do this anyway. It finished by the time i read here again :)

another issue though,
getRaceText(): RACETEXT.2DA not found.

Anyone know how i could remedy this? i cant even find that file in my vanilla install.
  [solved]:-

The file is in the Tobexhacks zip, and you can place it in the BGII override dir to repair the race texts

Hi again - I`m trying to install BWP again :)
The problem is that the installer won`t understand that i have full game installed - it says i don`t have 25movies.bif file in certain folder ( i have a dvd ersion of both bg1 and bg2 and it installs a bit diffrently than old versions - i have all movies in folder movies not in cdx/movies) even if i create this folder and copy the fille there it still won`t acknowledge its existance and i don`t want to do manual install again. Is there any way to skip this check?
