Uh, why would you ruin your installation?
If you don't want XYZ -- well -- at least it sounds pretty logical to me to select "Further customization of your mod-settings" or read a text within the application that will tell you what's happening in this screen. By the way: That customize-checkbox is pretty common in installers.

I don't mind changing the setting though and attached the instruction how to enable the checkbox so Leomar can add the line if he considers adding this to the next BWS-update.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

I have also been holding myself up on the BWP, becouse I want as much of a bugfree gaming experience as possible :)

And now both the BWP and the mods looks to be in a very stable state :) or am i wrong?

Of a separete concern - last time I checked aorund here, the recommended big mods (TDD for BG2 and DtotSC for BG1) were very buggy. What is the status of theese now? Becouse I see they have been updated, but not so overly much. And in their forums there are quite alot of bugreports of the current versions. Does the "BWP fixpack" remedy theese issues?

Otherwise I will simply not include them :)

Thanks to all of you

If I'm posting this in the wrong spot, forgive me, but as its an install question, I thought this spot was ok. I *really* want the Imoen Romance mod, not Imoen Friendship, and while it's on the lists on 1st page of thread, it's NOT among the mods listed in the Setup. I really don't want to play without it, but I have no clue how or when to add it to the installer, even after reading some read-me's and such.

PS. My apologies if this has been previously posted / answered...the search function for the forums was non-functional.

EDIT: I just found a page I'd somehow missed in the installer, with a Manage Components feature. I'll assume this is how to do so and attempt it while waiting for a reply.

EDIT 2: Well, it's accepting my inputs for Imoen Romance...but it still isn't appearing in the Selection list, so I'm confused @_@

EDIT 3: Restarting the VBS file caused a crash when attempting to (check? load? unsure >_>) the components/mod after I saved Imoen Romance in the Manage Components, so I obviously screwed up somewhere.

EDIT: Woops, double post....my bad >_<;;; Can someone merge these?

The following mod(s) could not be downloaded:
Shed's Mods - A Forgotten Wars Mod v1.03: The Mod itself (Shed\'s Mods 1.03.exe)

Some files cannot be downloaded with the "BiG World Setup".
Do you want to try to load the mods again or open the links in your default-browser to try it yourself?
Enter [y]es, [r]etry or [n]o.
I think it's a typo, but i had to exclude shed's mods from installation

To get Shed to work properly, download it manually, then create a Shed folder in the Downloads folder for BiG, then rename the EXE to " 's Mods 1.03.exe ". NOTE: If you run multiple TESTs to ensure you have no unneeded mods, it will remove the EXE from the Shed folder, for whatever stupid reason (I only fix computers; I don't script programs, so dun expect too much from me >_>). Anyway, if it removes it, just dump 's Mods 1.03.exe back into the folder before downloading the mods.

EDIT: At first I'd thought it was a typo too, until I experimented with the Test feature and recalled how folders are preceded / followed by a "\".

Just remove the backslash from the mods section in BiG World Setup\Config\Mod.ini.
The URL returns the files name with a backslash, which is stripped by a browser but not by the BWS.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

@Inaia
About Shed's:
Just extract Shed's mods 1.03 manually after BWS and before BWI. Ensure that it appears in BWI present mod check.

About Imoen Romance:
Extract in manually after BWS. It will replace Imoen friendship, because they have the same *.tp2 file, ensure that you are using the proper one.

And check the previous page of this thread, i've encountered just the same issues, you may find solutions there.

Guh. Of course this advice comes a few hours after a WORKING install of BWP...LOL. Now I almost wish the 2nd install had failed too >_<;;;. Anyway, would it still be possible to toss in Imoen Romance after BWP is set up and I've cleaned up / general biffed everything? >_> I mean, I don't suppose it would be, but if it was that would be nice, rather than reinstall AGAIN....

EDIT: Argh. I just realized I should have added the Widescreen mod, as apparently Baldur's Gate is stuck on 640x480 regardless of whether I run it through BG2's engine or not. BioWare forums state that BG's resolution *should* be alterable through BGII's BGConfig, but it sure ain't working for me...

EDIT 2: For whatever reason, my 5th or 6th try using BGConfig *finally* worked; apparently, the setting wasn't being maintained...I hate computers sometimes >.<

EDIT 3: Whoever worked on those banters did an EPIC job....I put an unID'ed belt on Gavin, and he started complaining about becoming a woman XD (turned out to be the infamous Girdle of Gender ^.^)

Yeah, the Imoen Romance and Imoen Friendship mods use the same file, and besides that, they're...what's the term?....conceptually-opposing. Even if you had both installed in a way that both would work, the dialogs would make almost as much sense as rolling a monkey down a hill in a rotting barrel.

[Rant] Whoever made the mod that lowers spell-learning exp to practically nothing, needs to be forced to grind* endlessly on kobolds at lvl 1 just to get a few thousand exp. I got so desperate, I even hunted for squirrels and bears for awhile >_<;;; [/Rant] Although, in retrospect, skipping a few levels due to scrolls does take the satisfaction and sense of accomplishment away. Still, 10 exp for a lvl 1 spell seems a little low. I'd have set them to maybe 1/10th their base exp.

One reason for that was that BGT could use the old BG1 table, 0 XP for any learned spell... now you can actually correct the behavioral to your liking by getting one of the backups of the original table and putting it to the "override" folder, or just putting this table(extract it from the .rar file of course) to there:Attached File  XPBONUS.rar   247bytes   174 downloads

Or if you wish a real modern system, you'll put this table into the said folder:Attached File  XPBONUS2.rar   241bytes   171 downloads It has 1/10th of the original spell learning table, non character level dependent trap disarm and unlock tables that the near maximum original sums are divided by a 1/10th.

To bad that that didn't exacly help me. I do got a feeling that it's impossible atm.. to install romantic imoen with BW. that why i asked for a step by step guide.

@Jarno: Heh, that's a cool file...but, I can't use it. If I did, I'd feel bad for being too weak to play BWP (Recommended w/ a handful of extras; Standard wouldn't load for me, even after removing problem mods) the way it was meant to be played! While I may dislike certain aspects of a ruleset, I don't try to tinker with them....why? Because I lack the necessary will and judgement to safely modify rules and keep them balanced for myself. It's much easier for me to maintain a balance when the changes won't affect me at all, otherwise, I worry that I'll be unfair and imbalance the way its supposed to be played. Besides, now that I *finally* have a mostly-working BWP, I don't wanna bugger it up! =^.^=

@Oracle: You CAN install Imoen Romance with BWP. After running the BW Setup, but before running the Install, unpack Imoen Romance into your BG2 folder. It's dialog file shares the same name as the one Imoen Friendship uses, so it replaces Friendship with Romance.

You know what? "Imoen romance" is great. Awesome. Awesomly awesome. Terribly, mind-boggingly great. Oh, wow, it's obvious i'm not great in twisting English words, but i think "Imoen Romance" MUST be in default BWP setup. It really worth it. I've nearly dropped a tear myself, when she.. and then.. she.. well, no spoils :D

I'm a bit skeptical about this, because the fixpack contains a folder called "ImoenRom", and I'm not sure if it causes any conflicts with the Imoen Romance mod

Pretty sure it won't... that's because the BiG World fixpack tries to patch the files... and if it cannot find the very specified text sites it would overwrite, it fails and moves on to the next package...so it just doesn't randomly go off and slice a file to a billion pieces... it's half intelligent.

Just checking here - is it normal to have to manually install the cespy audio package? There's no warning about it missing until I run the BWI.bat.

I just reinstalled... what does BWP stands for?? (big world p?)
Sorry I'm to new in this whole Baldur's gate modding. I have to admit that I own the games for several years, but I never really played it. Hoped that the mods and BGT helped to improve the whole gameplay..

Please, look at the name of the topic.
Cespy is only downloaded for users that chose the English translation.
You may also have encountered a problem during extraction so the files are not in place.

Look at your folder for an NSIS-subfolder to make sure there is nothing left that needs to be moved to your BG2-main-directory. (The subfolder is used so you have no chance to install components by accident + prevent some WeiDU update-mumbo-jumbo.)

Make sure you look at your BiG World Setup\Logs-folder if you are curious about that.

There were problems with some other mods that didn't extract (as usual), but those were listed in the BWS and I got asked for each one of them. I never get asked for the Cespy audio addon however - it's only when I run the bat file that there's a message about it.

There was no NSIS subfolder, so that's not an issue at least.

Different unrelated question: What's the purpose of the new tobexloader? Is there a difference from using that to just running BGMain.exe?
