I have to admit that I'm slightly bothered by all the talk about combat. It's all combat this, combat that, the combat is awesome... I never care about the combat, I'm an RPG junkie for the story and characters and there's, like, next to nothing about that. Just... "oooh the combat is all shiny and streamlined." "Ooooh, look at our awesome combat!" "We feel that weapon customization is the most important part of roleplaying, oooh!"

Well, it is an action RPG... granted, combat isn't the most important aspect in traditional RPGs, but you could argue that ARPGs really need it to be good because they're otherwise not as deep as traditional RPGs.

I know it's an ARPG, but I'm worried they'll focus too much on the action and that the RPG will suffer the budget cuts, so to speak. Ah, maybe I'm just being silly. ME3 will probably be great.

I would take the fact that they are postponing the release until March as a good sign...unless that was their evil plan all along. ;) Honestly, I think it will be good.

The RP part has already suffered from BioWare's new way of looking at development, but supposedly (referring to various interviews) they received enough negative feedback about DA2 that they're trying to add some more depth in their future titles, including ME3. They probably wouldn't admit that player feedback is behind any such decisions though.

More Mass Less Shepard @ Gamespot

It's nice that Shepard's story will finish after ME3 otherwise it would be overuse. Here's hoping for race choice in future ME games.

And if we get a choice of 5 races, the player feedback statistics will show that 80% of the players played a Male Human Soldier. Again. ;)

Convention summer of 2011 ended on an incredible high note with PAX Prime. Mass Effect 3 was in full force as thousands of fans waited patiently in the long lines to play the highly anticipated demo.

Missed out on PAX this year? Not to worry! We have fantastic video highlights that can be found at BioWare TV. Check it out for footage of Jennifer Hale revealing the new FemShep, great interviews with game developers and Dark Horse Comics and much more great content. Hopefully it'll entice you to meet us there next year!

We have fantastic Mass Effect screenshots as well as the new FemShep desktop wallpaper for your downloading pleasure.

A big thanks to all of our fans for making this summer an absolute blast for us! It was hard work, long hours and many miles of travel, but we enjoyed every minute of it.

BioWare's latest PR blurb:

Mass Effect will bring us the Sci-Fi we are Jonesing for!:

"The fall 2011 season is the first time there's been no TV show, on any network, featuring people on spaceships, since probably the mid-1980s." Charlie Jane Anders from io9.com.

With no television shows based in outer space and fewer big-screen space operas being made, we need to look to video games now more than ever to fill the void of intergalactic adventure.

Only seven short months...
