I can't get the latest version to work. Some bugs I encountered:
- Weidu.exe is an old version when he tries to install the fixes. Then after, he tries to update it. So the installer says it doesn't understand the --language 0 option.
- this happens:
C:\games\BWP>Check The Bodies (Check the Bodies (CtB) v1.12a) was installed successfully.

##### Candlekeep Chores v2.1 #####
### 0000: Candlekeep Chores ###

The following process could not be started:
Setup-CtB-Chores.exe --noautoupdate --language 0 --skip-at-view --force-install-list 0 --logapp.
This may be caused by several reasons.

##### Check the Bodies - Fast Forward v1.1 #####
### 0000: Check the Bodies Fast Forward ###

The following process could not be started:
Setup-CtB_FF.exe --noautoupdate --language 0 --skip-at-view --force-install-list 0 --logapp.
This may be caused by several reasons.
For a lot of packages. No further information is given. This also occurs for BGT, DSotSC, ...

Ow and I also encountered the "wild mage is just a regular mage and can't use daggers or scrolls" bug. Is there already a fix for it? I have removed Refinements, Amber and Ding0 quest- and Tweak packs just to be sure as they seem to influence this.

Any solutions?

any ideas how to make this work?

@Chevalier: I think Leomar meant where you found the conflict in the BWS :)

@Chevalier: I think Leomar meant where you found the conflict in the BWS :)

If that is the case, then it was the screen after mod and component selection (the one that can have red and orange bars with conflicts). It shows a conflict if you select both TDD and BP (all of BP) and you you don't make the right choice it can removed TDD. The Level 50 rules will be auto skipped by BP if TDD is installed and players may not know it is already in TDD.

Gelrof: Can you look at your WeiDU.log to see if the setup was executed and installed?
You message appears if your PC did not fire up the setup after 3 seconds. As said, there may be several reasons that keep the WeiDU-setups from starting, like security-software, windows-UAC and so on.
I guess you have vista or windows 7 installed?

Tilbot: Download the files, wait until the BWS tells you that they are missing and then provide them by selection the files via a file-selector or fire up your browser and save them then.

Chevalier: Can you tell us the text that was displayed so we can verify the problem?
Improved Mind Flayers or something...

I guess you mean this one: True Grand Mastery=C:TDD(-)>BPV179(14)>BG2_Tweaks(2210)>MixMod(42|43)

You don't get BPv179 (14) if you select TDD, so this is a conflict. Not in the sense of gamebreaking, but you still won't get what you want and the component will be skipped.
TDD is always preferred automatically. If you want to have BPv179(14), you will have to deselect TDD.
At least that's the sense I read out of the BiG World Install.bat.
How do you suppose we make the rule?

Ok, after running the install, I still run into the same errors as previously reported, which is 3 components from SCS will refuse to install :

Component 6110 Improved Drasus party
Spoiler

Component 6130 Improved Undercity party

Spoiler

Component 6140 Improved minor encounters

Spoiler

I attached my User.ini.

The install still ran to the end and I am able to start a game, however, I still get the problem with the GUI : selecting Elminster with staff will not work, as I did not install one of the megamods (TDD&such), so my initial selection in the BWS gets skipped :

##### BGT Graphical User Interface (GUI) v1.08 #####
### 0009: Game Graphical User Interface (GUI) -> "Baldur's Gate Trilogy" (Elminster wielding staff) ###
Setup-GUI.exe --noautoupdate --language 0 --skip-at-view --force-install-list 9 --logapp
[Setup-GUI.exe] WeiDU version 21800
[Setup-GUI.exe] Using scripting style "BG2"
Using Language [English]

G:\install\BGII - SoA>

##### Widescreen Mod v2.31 #####
....

Since I did not install TDD, SoS and others, choice number 9 does not mean anything to the Weidu setup and thus it does not install correctly.

Don't know about scs but I guess changing Install.au3, line 273 might help with your GUI-problem.

Setup[3] = 'GUI' Then
>> replace 3 with a 2
If $Setup[2] = 'GUI' Then
...

Go down to line 305 and add the first two lines so it looks like this:

MsgBox(0, 'Debug', $InstallString)
Exit
_Process_Run($InstallString, $Setup[0])

Open Setup.ini, replace the lines underneath [Order] with those of [Order-Install].
Also replace set the value of the Start-key underneath [Options] to 2188.
Start the BWS and continue your installation.

This way, the setup starts its work from the GUI-component, the install-line will be displayed and the script will exit, so your installation won't be screwed.

Didn't work for me... The setup did restart at the GUI, I chose to resume installation, it proceeded through the final installation steps, but SETUP-GUI.DEBUG was not updated and BGT GUI still does not appear in weidu.log. This is the full debug file :

@Tonton Fred: Looks like the Setup-GUI.tp2 was rewritten after I created the function to look for text-strings in the tp2. Fails now since there are references instead. -_-

Ah, o.k., this is the searched line. I'll improve the conflicts. ;)

SCSI install issues

Hmmm, at first, I don't know if the errors are BWS or mod related. Did someone know, if the errors only occur with the BWS? Perhaps it is better to open a new topic for the SCSI errors, so we can try to find the source of it.

@Leomar: This is BWS-related (and what I meant with "problems with conflicts" and "lack of dependencies"; it doesn't happen if one uses the normal BWS).

I've no clue, why the 3 SCSI errors occur. :( (Thanks for the reminder, Fennek)

The SCSI readme and the TP2 show me no missing dependencies or conflicts which we could have forgot. Normally at this stage of the installation SCSI should be installed correctly. What someone could test is, to select all SCSI components, deselect the same SCSII ones in the dependencis/conflicts menu and see, if SCSI will be installed without errors. If yes, then we have a hidden dependency between the SCSI components... If no, then we could have a new mod conflict, because with the BWS-beta you have other possibillities to install mod-components which the Install.bat not offers...

Ok, just a wild guess that someone might be able to confirm:

Installing 6110, 30 and 40 by single steps fails.
So I stripped more and more components from the install-string that is included in the BiG World Install.bat. After some runs, I had 6080, 6110, 30 and 40 installed in one go.

I previously read that the value for magespelltype is not set, so the installation does not works in the first case. So reading the macro for 6080, you can find:

ACTION_IF FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~dw#21_4.xxx~ OR FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~dw#21_2.xxx~ THEN BEGIN
  OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2
END ELSE BEGIN
  OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
END

Doing a search for it returns

scs\misc\cult.tph:14: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2
scs\misc\cult.tph:16: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
scs\misc\redwizard.tph:7: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2
scs\misc\redwizard.tph:9: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
scs\kobold\kobold.tph:134: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2
scs\kobold\kobold.tph:136: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
scs\c6end\c6end.tph:90: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2
scs\c6end\c6end.tph:92: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
setup-scs.tp2:1217: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
setup-scs.tp2:1233: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2
setup-scs.tp2:1249: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
setup-scs.tp2:1263: OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2

The setup-scs.tp2 goes like this:
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
BEGIN @38 DESIGNATED 6080 GROUP @4023 //~Improved Demon Cult~
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

REQUIRE_PREDICATE (FILE_EXISTS ~override/FW1500.are~ OR !(FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~fw0100.are~)) @4000
COPY_EXISTING ~misc01.itm~ ~override/dw#38.xxx~ //installation marker

INCLUDE ~scs/misc/cult.tph~
INCLUDE ~scs/mage/mage.tph~
LAUNCH_ACTION_MACRO ~cult_core~

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
BEGIN @89 DESIGNATED 6090 GROUP @4023 //~Improved Cloakwood druids~
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

REQUIRE_PREDICATE (FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~dw#23.xxx~) @4008
COPY_EXISTING ~misc01.itm~ ~override/dw#druid.mrk~ //installation marker

INCLUDE ~scs/priest/priest.tph~
INCLUDE ~scs/misc/druid.tph~
LAUNCH_ACTION_MACRO ~druid_core~

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
BEGIN @91 DESIGNATED 6110 GROUP @4023 //~Improved Drasus party~
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

COPY_EXISTING ~misc01.itm~ ~override/dw#drasus.mrk~ //installation marker

INCLUDE ~scs/mage/mage.tph~
INCLUDE ~scs/misc/drasus.tph~
LAUNCH_ACTION_MACRO ~drasus_core~

I am a bit unsure now, so I need someone with more knowledge.
My wild guess is that WeiDU does not read BEGIN-sections of other components.
This way the actions that should set the value were not executed.

Running the install-list did execute the macros that set the value, so they worked (6080 includes the cult.tph).

Does one need to patch/fix the Setup-SCS.tp2 or am I jumping to wrong conclusions?

Looks like something freaky :D The variables magespelltype and priestspelltype are used by mage.tph and priest.tph to do their thing ... but they're supposed to be OUTER_SET by the component-specific .tph's (drasus.tph, cult.tph etc)

This may just be a long shot but methinks this can be done if every component-specific .tph using mage.tph had this block:
ACTION_IF FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~dw#21_4.xxx~ OR FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~dw#21_2.xxx~ THEN BEGIN
   OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=2
END ELSE BEGIN
   OUTER_SET ~magespelltype~=1
END
and those using priest.tph should have this block:
ACTION_IF FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~dw#23_4.xxx~ OR FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~dw#23_2.xxx~ THEN BEGIN
   OUTER_SET ~priestspelltype~=2
END ELSE BEGIN
   OUTER_SET ~priestspelltype~=1
END
Also, the component-specific .tph's should be INCLUDEd before either mage.tph or priest.tph (like it does for the cult stuff in the .tp2 :P)

I don't think I understand what I wrote myself

But a better solution (if possible) would be to install them all in one go :D

I don't like installing in groups because faults are reported a few steps too late.
Adding that would be no issue, just adding 2 lines GRP Start/ GRP Stop.
But if you select only those 3 you are still screwed. :whistling:

Yup :coolthumb:

But they're prolly reported late cause they're not usually installed one-by-one :P (which would be a pain in someplace cause scs hss like a million components )

Well, I still think better error-handling is worth waiting a few moments...
Faults will get caught when they occur and errors that will be caused by this will be prevented. You would not want to ride your car a few miles when smoke is starting to come out of its engine. At least that's my thought about that. ^_^

Edit: Leomar is updating the mods section frequently so I created a subpage for mod-updates. You might want to fetch the latest of them if they are released after the installation-package.
