Hi aVENGER

In my game Death Knights looks like Nabassus.

I play on Windows 7, with SR v3, SCSII v 20 and aTweaks v 3.65.

Do you have any clue?

BTW here's my weidu.log. Note that I updated SCSII, but the problem was there before.

Hmm, sounds like a minor incompatibility with Spell Revisions.

This only happens with summoned fiends, right?

Mariliths (like radiant mephits) can get stuck in an infinite detect illusion loop if confronted by someone with the cloak of displacement or any other non-illusionary blur effect due to the check for STATE_ILLUSIONS.

Possible solutions: A normal 6-second timer for the detect illusion ability (in addition to regular spells) or skipping the check for STATE_BLUR - it's not so great an impediment to hitting or targetting a creature as MI and II.

The blindness from the fog cloud of mephits and sirens persists for a round after your character leaves the cloud - I realize some delay is unavoidable for engine reasons, but would you consider giving the projectile a faster tick (like GOLCLOUD.pro) and a shorter duration effect?

Mariliths (like radiant mephits) can get stuck in an infinite detect illusion loop if confronted by someone with the cloak of displacement or any other non-illusionary blur effect due to the check for STATE_ILLUSIONS.

Possible solutions: A normal 6-second timer for the detect illusion ability (in addition to regular spells) or skipping the check for STATE_BLUR - it's not so great an impediment to hitting or targetting a creature as MI and II.

Removing STATE_BLUR from the check seems reasonable.

The blindness from the fog cloud of mephits and sirens persists for a round after your character leaves the cloud - I realize some delay is unavoidable for engine reasons, but would you consider giving the projectile a faster tick (like GOLCLOUD.pro) and a shorter duration effect?

I think the 1 round delay until sight is restored after leaving the cloud is fine. It can be justified by arguing that the target's eyes need a moment to adjust to the new visibility conditions etc.

OTOH, a faster tick in the PRO could potentially apply the blindness effect multiple times per round and we don't really want that since the penalties stack in the unmodded game. We might be able to bypass that by protecting the target from the Fod Cloud .SPL for a few seconds each time it's applied, but I try to avoid having spells that grant protection from themselves whenever I can as the engine doesn't handle them very well (in practice, the timings often de-sync).

aVENGER,

I get an installation error when I try to install Option 2 of PnP Fiends (Option 1 and 3 install successfully instead). Here is the relevant debug snippet:

also when I install Make alignment detection spells more accurate, WeiDu installs some files before telling me: * * * A similar component is already present in one of the mods that you are currently using. Preventing unnecessary content duplication. * * *

Has it been installed or not?

Here's my WeiDu Log:

Ah, the compatibility check breaks if SCSII Mages are installed but SCSII Fiends are not. Will fix.

I will let aVENGER field that one, since it is his code.

This happens when you have Spell Revisions and/or Oversight installed. In that case the changes to Know Alignment are skipped and only the changes to Detect Evil are applied, hence the message.

However, I can see how that could be confusing. I'll remove the message in the next release.

The modifed version of Gate has the following text for both Wizards and Priests: "During the casting of the spell, the wizard must choose the nature of the fiend to be summoned.". I guess it shouldn't say wizard for the priest version?

Cheers, we'll change it to "priest" for the cleric version of Gate.

  • Sil, the Sirine leader at the Lighthouse map was erroneously getting her Shortbow removed by the "PnP Fey Creatures" component
Quick question: I like to do a ton of pre(my)mods before I start other mods. I give Sil the Eagle Bow instead of Marek (he gets a +1 SB and +1 Arrows instead), so will aTweaks still keep a different bow intact still? I was going to do a PnP of the Fey creatures myself, but aTweaks has saved me the work! Thanks soo much!

Unfortunately, with the way aTweaks is currently set up, she will still get a shortbow. IIRC, the problem with Sil is that her weapon slots are reversed compared to all other Sirines in the game i.e. her SIRINE.ITM is in the WEPON1 slot and her shortbow is in her WEAPON2 slot. For aTweaks scripts to work properly, it's important for the showtbow to be in the WEAPON1 slot and for rr#ftrnq.itm (Touch of Tranquility) to be in the WEAPON2 slot. To ensure this, aTweaks currently replaces these items. However, I can handle this differently in the next version and ensure that the weapon which Sil's wielding in her WEAPON1 slot doesn't get replaced unless it's SIRINE.ITM.

I was going to do a PnP of the Fey creatures myself, but aTweaks has saved me the work! Thanks soo much!

I'm glad you found it enjoyable. :)

idk if this would help, but i like tackling simple little problems sometimes. IF the following were run on a BG install (file names need to be checked for adjustment for tutu/bgt versions) Sil's weapons will be swapped into the same order as the other sirine in game. thus making your weapon replacement much easier. Its not a fix i can include in the BG fixpack as there is no problem with where the weapons originally are, but it might be useful to you so that before you do any other changes the sirine1.itm is assigned properly and can be replaced without touching the other weapon whatever that may be.

it's a tp2/tph patch has to be inserted or converted into a mod to work.

Cheers, that helped a lot. The IESDP documentation on creature item slots is a bit... confusing, but looking at your code cleared things up for me.

For the next release, I'll set it up so that SIRINE.ITM and SIRINE1.ITM are always removed but if any other weapon is present in Sil's WEAPON1 slot, it will be retained.

Rock and roll...thanks again for the reply and the code help from Sasha.

Yea, when I do my tweak mods, I usually leave everything where it was originally (like replacing an item with a similar item); therefore other mods have a better chance at modding a creature without choking. Everybody that does their own pre-mod tweaks should keep this in mind I would think.

To polish off the tweak I do with Sil and Marek* -- I make the Dagger +2 a +3 {edit strings} and make Hentold's Dagger* a +2 {edit/create strings}...otherwise, there are two +2 Daggers out there and I LOVE the idea of the Unique Items mod, but it doesn't work on EasyTutu.

*More technically The Revenant's Dagger, but it is best to just to copy the +1 dagger's string and call this dagger an "extra enchanted" dagger or some such and use the +2 dagger's original description as a now +3 dagger.

Could you use the command: Equip("rr#ftrnq",Myself)? Then it shouldn't matter which weapon slot the item is allocated to.

The EquipItem() action doesn't work as expected in-game.

IIRC, SimDing0 discovered that ages ago. but for some reason, the IESDP doesn't mention it.

I get the following error when i try to install component "Make alignment detection spells more accurate" from aTweaks v3.80:
ERROR: error loading [atweaks/spl/elementals/rr#ekal2.spl]

I searched the folder and i found only rr#ekal.spl.

I take it you have Spell Revisions installed? A file which was referenced in the SR compatibility block was incorrectly named.

I've fixed this in a silent update. Please re-download and try again.
