Hi!
Have finally decided to try PST after so many years and so many nice mods.
Everything I installed seems to work properly, but one annoying problem.
The dialog fonts are staying the same no matter what I do. Floating or journal
fonts are getting 120% or 80% just fine. All the dialogs are staying at original 0% :(
To boot multiline text gets sliced at the bottom (see the pic)
I've tried several resolutions and different languages (just in case) but to no avail.
Please help! I'm running XP SP3, 1920x1200 or less (in DX Windower) , ATI video card.
Attached are 2 glued screenshots and installation log.

That's strange. The installation seems to have gone smoothly, there isn't an error in the debug file and I can't reproduce this... it works fine on my end. Let's try to do this manually. First install the 120% fonts again and then go to GhostDog's PST UI\Version 2.1-new\GhostDog's-PST-UI\Fonts\iso-8859-1\Size18 and copy the two files into the override folder.

EDIT :

If the above doesn't solve it, It's probably due to guiworld.chu not being patched for some reason. I've prepared a patched guiworld.chu for the 1920x1200 resolution and attached it below. Just extract it into the override folder (after doing the 2 steps I mention above). This should do the trick.

Thank you!
Size18 files were fine - exactly the same in the Fonts and Override folders.
Replacing guiworld.chu has fixed the problem (the obvious problem with the small fonts at least).
It remains a mystery however why it wasn't patched in the first place and what else could be missing.
Thanks again, hopefully it's the only bug I have and other game patches are in place. :ermm:

I'm glad it worked. For some reason the Font_chu_patch.tph didn't work. DO you have it in the TPH folder ?

It's only *.tph files in TPH folder. There is one called chu_patch.tph

There must be one file called Font_chu_patch.tph, it's the one that edits the guiworld.chu file for the new fonts. Somehow you deleted it/it was deleted, that's why the fonts didin't work.

Missed it. Font_chu_patch.tph is present in TPH folder:

I have just the same problem (dialogue lines aren't sliced though), but with 1680x1050 resolution. Everything is fine except dialogue fonts. Font_chu_patch.tph is where it's supposed to be, in the TPH folder. I would really really really appreciate if someone helped me.

Thanks!

Damn, i hate these random problems. It has probably something to do with guiworld.chu again. Superdude, tell me what font size you want and I'll upload the file for the 1680x1050 resolution.

I would like to have 40% bigger fonts (English) please. The font size of the dialogue text will be the same as in the Journal screen, right?

Thank you very much, ghostdog, you are awesome! It's so cool that there are people resuscitating cool old games like PS:T, Star Control 2, Transport Tycoon Deluxe and others.

Here you are. Just extract the archive into the override folder of your PST directory. ;)

This works wonderfully, I can now read dialogues without killing my eyes! Text in inventory and character details screen is still small though. That's not much of a problem since I probably won't spend much time reading things there.

Thanks again, wish you best!

Figures I was wrong and there is still a lot of text that isn't enlarged - biography texts, item descriptions (including sort of books) and so on. I need to read it to fully enjoy the game, don't I? So if you happen to have time to attach files for those fonts as well, I'll be very grateful.

I haven't increased the text for biographies, item descriptions and UI buttons, because the text will get cropped.

Ah, ok then. I played for some time more and there wasn't that much text in bios and item descriptions anyway (I think I got the wrong impression because of the few "books" you get in the Mortuary).

Thanks again.

Have you tried re-installing the fonts ? Run the setup again, choose [N]o change in the first question about the UI and then re-install the fonts you want.

Thanx for your answer. I tried reinstalling it in a few ways. The way you wrote, too. But it didn´t work.
The text in the dialogue box is the same small size. Only the text, when I klick with the pointer to an object is in 40% bigger.
I tried also the 2 ways you´ve written to Jedd, but that dindn`t work, too.
