Hi everyone,

This is my first time modding.

Installed the BGT mod no problems. Loads fine, can get into Candlekeep and do that, and start a game on ToB. My problem comes when I decided to create a new SoA game. Clicked the button, decided to skip BG1, created my character, but before it loads up the starting movies, it crashes.

Has this happened with anybody else? Will it happen when I finish BG1 and decide to carry on to SoA? Is there anything else I should do to get it to load?

Many thanks in advance for any tips and advice.

JC

You probably have other mods installed besides the BGT-WeiDU v1.0...5, 6, 7 or 8..., if so, open the file called WeiDU.log and copy paste the content to a post.

Unfortunately it will probably crash too, if you go through the BGT's part one to BG2... so it's good that you asked this now, so we can help you before it's way too late.

Does this help?

Yes, that's the file, and I can already tell you why had to uninstall the setup-gui, it's because your user interface was all over the place. Now, I do not know what actually happens if you start the game in BG2 with BGT installed in that order, but were I human, I would bet that the Widescreen mod does something bad to the camera centering when the area is loaded and so it crashes to the desktop. Now then you have to first uninstall all of those by first starting with the setup-BGTmusic.exe, then setup-BGT.exe and last the setup-widescreen.exe, then start the setup-BGT.exe and reinstall it, then setup-BGTmusic.exe, then the setup-GUI.exe(if you wish) and then the setup-widescreen.exe and then retry the BG2 part of the game.

Thanks so much. I shall uninstall them all and start again in that order. Will see how that goes. :)

Nope, didn't work.

Completely reinstalled everything, except the widescreen mod. Same thing happens. BG1 will play perfectly, but click on the start a new BG2 game, and I create a character, then crash.

This is my current log;

It seems to crash as soon as the opening movie is about the start. The "Lord of Murder shall perish...." one.

Could the movies be causing it?

Hmm, it could be. Have you a full install of SoA + ToB and a custom install (all checkboxes ticked) install of BG:TotSC?
Try playing the intro movie from the Movies menu in the main menu.

Hmmmm, that's interesting.

The SoA intro movie doesn't appear on the list of movies. Could the BG1/TotSC intro overwritten it?

I did a full install of each, and made sure they were patched correctly.
