Ok, so I know this probably isn't the first time this has been brought up, but I couldn't find any posts to read up on. Everyone knows there are countless banters and interactions between party members throughout the BG experience. I wanted to know if anyone had any knowledge if someone has attempted to mod the game to expand the party limits. Yes this would make things a bit imbo and easier for players, but it would also allow players to see more of what BG has to offer, rather than constantly playing over and over or interchanging party members. Any ideas?

It's hard-coded. It's almost impossible. (I'm writting "almost" cause nowadays people release things changing other hard-coded parts of game, so who knows...) But You shouldn't expect it.

This isn't going to happen any time soon... and there was talk about this just recently.

Everyone knows there are countless banters and interactions between party members throughout the BG experience.

Do you know how those things are coded? Cause a lot of them would need to be recoded to take into account the 19th party member too.

PS: if you are playing that with Tutu, and are restricted to 1024x768 res, you should know there is the Widescreen mod that allows any resolution above the 800x600 for you to play in fully patched IE games, with no scale restrictions, so even without a widescreen monitor as long as the monitor and GPU can show the max resolution... like mine can show 1920x1200.

dev codes = codes the publisher has access to.

I have done some mod work for a game called Mechwarrior 4. Microsoft eventually released the code as the game was so old. Do you think Bioware would allow the 'dev bg codes' to be offered to spellhold studios? It is worth a shot if one of the big admins is willing to pop them an e-mail. Plus people like when thier old games are bought because of the accomplishments others put into it so there is a high possibility unless they are super stingy.

I am not sure if you have the 'dev bg codes' or not, but if you do already, then i supose it is a mute idea. :P

But see Baldur's Gate, the primary publisher Black Isle Studios is dead, and I don't think the Bioware as the game developer has the rights, and no, we don't have dev bg codes.

I believe that GemRB (in-progress rewrite of the Infinity engine, forums at http://forums.gibber...hp?showforum=91) may expand maximum party capacity. Not sure though.

Party limits are hardcoded but it is possible to add a group that will fight with you (the inmates in spellhold or Drizzit's group) that are not under your direct control. Or something like summoned or charmed creatures on a limited basis.

That is it I think

They say the world is going to Hell.

They are wrong.

The world IS Hell! Always has been, always will be; except perhaps for the five percent or so of the population who can afford differently.

And, if one must reside in Hell, it is far better to do it as a minion of the Devil than as a member of the damned.
