Ok, I reproduced both of these things as well.

mages avatars still *naked* while wearing robes. only their belt and shoes colors change while wearing different robes

Not exactly "naked" but the robes won't colour the major part of the avatar/paperdoll, as they should. This is an Adventurer's Robe, which should have 3 colours (gold robe, blue amulet and red straps), but in fact only takes the latter, and on the feet, rather oddly (hmm if we could figure out how to use that in general, would make a cool effect for Aurora's Boots).
bg1magi.gif

So I think that problem somehow resides in Thief animation (all working PCs use cleric, figher and mage avatars, even multi Fighter(Cleric)/Thiefs). Installing BG1 animations for NPC (1st option - 25%) also crush game upon starting new game(I think because of Imoen's thief avatar in Candlekeep).

This is also true, even copying the thief2 animation series to 3 and 4 doesn't help, but I really didn't think it would, because it happens with unarmoured thieves. Ordinarily, this indicates a weapon-related issue as Jarno said, but it happens with unarmed thieves also.

I'll try to see if Erephine is still alive to look at this. For now, all I can do is comment out the part of the code that messes with thieves, so replace the files in your infinityanimations/lib folder with these and reinstall the BG1 Animation components.

Edit: just noticed this, and maybe it's just me, but is that staff actually *out* of the mage's hand?

Thanks, Miloch! :) I'm glad to know that problem is not with my install alone and not because of it.

Not exactly "naked" but the robes won't colour the major part of the avatar/paperdoll, as they should.

Well, of course I didn't meant absolutely *naked*, but exactly what you've reproduced :)

Edit: just noticed this, and maybe it's just me, but is that staff actually *out* of the mage's hand?

Aye, I also have this issue, I simply didn't mentioned it. All paperdolls are little shifted towards NE while equipped weapons, helmets and shields are shifted SW.

I'll try to see if Erephine is still alive to look at this

Thanks! :)

And one last stupid question, please :). If I want to use BG1 animation for my party members should I install BG1 Animation for NPC component or I may install only PC component and then *mess* with save game with NearInfinity?
Edit: well, never mind. I found it myself :)

Well, you can do it either way. We don't mess with saved games because it would be very hackish to do so with WeiDU (though I suppose it is possible). The cleanest way to do it is to use the NPCs component at 100% before you start a game, then it will affect everyone (except thieves, if you use the fix above).

Erephine is a bit busy it seems but asked: "Does the mage animation switch properly if you toggle it with the cheat console hotkey (ctrl 1 or something like that?)" Not really in a position to test it quickly myself, so if anyone could, that'd be cool. Maybe installing 1PP's avatar-switching component would help test it. I'd kinda expect it does the same thing no matter what, but who knows with this sort of weirdness.

Yep, it switch as it should BUT ONLY after I uninstalled 1ppv3: Improved Improved Galactygon's Avatar Switching. While being installed it prevents BG1 char animation to work for current party members (they use BG2 animation even while their animations sets to L_XXXXXXX type). NPCs out of party uses BG1 animations without any problems. For example I have Minsc in Copper Coronet out of party and he use BG1 Fighter animation. But if I add him to party, his animation changes to BG2 one

That's because it's programmed to swich to the BG2 animations...

One should be able to make a script like that to swich to the BG1 animations quite easily... it would of course require a few things... like a stable platform to start with... and a clear plan on how to swich to the BG1 -> BG2 -> BG1 animations on each character. Yes, a pre-programed swich-keys might be a good solution but...

~SETUP-BD-TOB.TP2~ #0 #1 // Textupdatepack -> Baldurdash English Text Update Pack for ToB, v1.4 WeiDU

I don't think this is very compatible with any of the Tutu mods innards, as the Tutu actually uses it's own descriptions from dialog.tlk that yes is based on the original, but as the items have the "_" -prefix, I don't think clearly a BG2 mod actually changes any of them. See here for the approved list of mods and how to install them, the last post. Yes, the list is a bit old, so it doesn't contain the latest mods, but that's besides the point.

Aye, I know that, thanks :) But as I said this is my BG2 game with some *cosmetic* TuTu mods (not EasyTuTu-ed BG1 part). So I don't think they are so much unnecessary. May be I'm wrong.. :)

Yeah, in that case you are right... you can have what ever fixpack or go without. But it does seem odd that you use the SCSBGT's component, TutuGUI etc. , so sorry for my confusion.

It's all right :) The reasons for me to use them are:
1. Remove blur effect from displacer cloak - I didn't found another way to do that then using SCSBGT component.
2. I hate BG2 GUI so 1PP and TutuGUI are absolutely must for me. Now infinity animations definitely as well :)

Hmm, so the BG1 mage animation works with robes if you use the console (not the Avatar Switching component) to switch to it? I suppose switching to the BG1 thief animation will still crash?

Aye. But I must do this any time I unequip/equip them.

If I use console command CTRL+6/CTRL+7 (swithing next/previous paperdoll in list) then upon first use it switch character to BG2 avatars and then switch through them without problems (and yes, thiefs among them - bg2 ones). If I, as earlier, change them with Swadowkeeper (NearInfinity) - crash...

Oh, so it isn't possible to switch to the BG1 avatars with this method, only the BG2 ones?

I think so. I've checked all of them though cycle and there are only BG2 ones (among any others) and no any traces of BG1 avatars... :(

Well, I've another problem in my BG2 game with that mod. Everything goes just fine until I traveled to Temple Ruins (AR1401). Upon entering this area game freezes (as in this thread http://www.shsforums...pected-crashes/). I uninstalled Infinity Animations, installed IA-Aurora LOW Fix and then reinstalled IA. Unfortunately it doesn't help... I think this is because of Anath (she should spawn immediately after entering this area). But as I can see in iaaurfix/lib/t-low_fix.log her animation properly changed: rngwlf01 21264 THIEF_FEMALE_HUMAN_LOW 25360 THIEF_FEMALE_HUMAN
And even if I uninstall everything game still crash in this area...

EDIT: Well, I found the course of problem - some shadows use SHADOW_SMALL_IWD animations and I've installed only BG1 character animations. So I reinstalled IA with ALL animations from core package and everything now fine! :)

Hi

On previous installs from last spring and summer I was able to use shadowkeeper to change characters to bg1 animation or to anything that Infinity Animations added. Everything looked good.

Now, on my new install BWP 9.4 with the beta installer nothing happens when I change them with Shadowkeeper. Also tried with NearInfinity. The animations I manually changed show up listed in the saved games, but there is no change when I run the game itself.

The animations are in the game and installed because I see a lot of the PST animations. Did I forget to install something? Tried a tiefling, a bauriar, and large thug from PST and some of the BG1 Low animations and nothing happened.

Everything else looks good though, great job on the mod.

Here is the relevant part of the weidu log :

That's because you most likely have the Improved Avatar changing script running in the background...

Aghh. I do have that component towards the end of the install before aurora, tweaks,IA, etc according to the guide. Anyway to kill that avatar script without reinstalling the whole game?

Also if that does kill the Low Animations, I suppose there should be a conflict warning in the BWP guide.(unless I missed reading it)

Well, the obvious problem from your log (unless you missed part of it) is you don't have the BG1 Animations component installed. There is another component that allows you to assign those animations to your saved game characters. That component is not installed by default with BWP, as it requires user input.

I compared this to what I had on last install (IA version 4) and its the same except for 720 and 7010 which were added this time. Last time I just used shadowkeeper to change things around on Pc and party members. But, previously I didn't use 9500 component and higher. Do I need this now to see BG1 animations? Sorry but with so many installs and components I've started to forget what I used to know. Thanks again.

From the readme:

BG1 Character Animations for NPCs
8000
. 25% of relevant creatures
8010. 50% of relevant creatures
8020. 75% of relevant creatures
8030. Most relevant creatures
Requires IA_Base_Anims.rar
- Uses the original Baldur's Gate character animations as specified
- The last option is "most" instead of "all" because certain creatures are excluded
- These include creatures with scimitars, katanas or anything other than a shield in the offhand slot (or related proficiencies) since BG1 did not have these animations
- Use with caution in the case of joinable NPCs: it will avoid any characters with the two weapon proficiency or a second weapon equipped, but do not try to dual wield

BG1 Character Animations for PCs
9500
. Prompt for each exported PC
9510. Prompt for problematic PCs
9520. Patch all PCs without prompting
Requires IA_Base_Anims.rar
- Uses the original Baldur's Gate character animations as specified
- The second option patches all PCs but prompts for those with scimitars, katanas or anything other than - a shield in the offhand slot
- Scimitars and katanas should work, but will appear as longswords on character avatars
- Use with caution: do not try to dual wield or the game will likely crash

BG1 Character Animations for Saved Games
9600
. Prompt for each character
9610. Prompt for problematic characters
9620. Patch all characters without prompting
Requires IA_Base_Anims.rar
- Same notes as above
- You get to choose whether to patch each game (and character within it, if you've selected one of the prompting options)
- Back up your saved games before uninstalling this component, as it will restore the versions present at the time of the installation
