After some time I decided to re-play BGT. At first I praised, that all works wonderfully, after reading BiG World. Even minor bug in Nashkel didn't spoil it. [Character can walk through doors, without opening them.] It was until I got to Baldur's Gate city...

CtDs with some freaking BGMain error. Thief's Guild 2nd floor, Durlag's Tower Chessboard, Aec'Letec chamber. [Ok, I think that woman who summons him is corrupted. Upon trying to CLUA her, game crashes.] I tried to replace BGMain with the same file from my ToB disk, and then re-isntalling BGT-Music (which patches BGMain). I thought I somehow would be able to play the game... but after slaying Sarevok, and transferring to SoA, the Irenicus' Prison crashes too! I see for a minute my PC standing in the cage and then 'poof.' Here the complete text of error.

BGMain.exe - Application error

The instruction at "0x009ca8a8" referenced memory at "0x00000058". The memory could not be "read".

Same problem as in the last ~50 posts here. ;) Please go here and use the fix, early reports indicate all's well afterwards.

Yeah, what Setharnas said. Though I think not the walking through closed doors thing - that's a neat trick . Please post the resulting log file it indicates after you install that patch - it'll help us avoid these kinds of things in the future.

Yeah, Miloch, in Nashkel there no door highlight just a arrow-door cursor to walk, so I walked. :D

Unfortunately, I do get these 'loggies, debugies' and other Microsoft smart software.

But, hey, thanks! Never knew this 'Aurora' till now. [All I knew that Aurora is the engine for NWN1]

Yeah, Miloch, in Nashkel there no door highlight just a arrow-door cursor to walk, so I walked.

If it's the one door behind the large tavern in the middle of town (that leads down to a sort of underground garden) then that is Aurora, but it's not a bug. It's intentional because you can't see the door anyway - it's behind a wall and under a roof. But if it's just doors in general, Aurora doesn't mess with them.

Unfortunately, I do get these 'loggies, debugies' and other Microsoft smart software.

Eh, not sure which you're talking about but if you got prompted to post your BGT/iaaurfix/lib/t-low_fix.log file, then post it please (either attach it or open it with a text editor and copy and paste the contents).

I wasn't going to mention it in my thread (because it's such a miniscule bug) but I have the same issue with doors in Nashkel. The area transitions are all there, but the doors don't open and close. You can't highlight the doors with tab, either. You just click on where the door should be and that activates the area transition (the cursor still changes to the area transition cursor when floating over the door, as well).

I wasn't going to point fingers at Aurora, nor even mention it, but I have the same behavior.

I wasn't aware Aurora added a special door to Nashkel, though. I'm gonna have to go back and check it out!

Attach your ar3700.are file from your override (extract it if it's biffed). Could be Aurora's old .are patching routine, in which case we may already have dealt with it.

Err.. Possibly because he's even more of a rule-breaking munchkin than Drizzt? (Check the class levels... Unfortunately, they are only given for 3.5, but AFAIR he already had four classes in AD&D 2nd, which, I think, at least my rulebook said was limited to three.) Got some divine brats on a killing spree? El's the one to snip his fingers and make 'em go away.

Well, what came to the rule braking, don't you think its a bit odd that with those 4 cleric levels, he was able to charm (hmm, the Imp scratches his head) an Observer Beholder and make it defeat a Red Dragon and an Illithid... in the first book called 'Elminster: The Making of a Mage'.

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Ok, encountered the some problems, even further.

1. Irenicus Prison 2, crashes with same error, the fix doesn't help.
2. Bridge district - can't detect doors.

Ok, now this just plain *wrong*! No door highlight! How could they! I need to move only with CLUA in the bridge. Umar hills has the same problem, but hey, there are only 3 buildings there. :( And where the horn of Valhalla?

Please uninstall Aurora v4 and install Aurora v5. If you want to try to fix the problems without reinstalling a mod, you can follow the suggestions here, but either way you'll need to use a saved game from before you visited the affected areas (as areas are stored in save games).

Also, this should be one of your last mods anyway. If you install another mod that adds creatures after Aurora, you may still have animation crashes.

EDIT: Ok, found something weird. There's no CRE file of Frennedan in the the override. Maybe this is causing a crash. Whatever it is, maybe some files are corrupted.

Not sure how Frennedan works exactly, but generally speaking, you can't uninstall/reinstall mods and use old saved games. Which was my point about the area files - you need to use a save from before you visited them the first time (before the Bridge District in the case of Aurora for BG2). Also, you definitely shouldn't install stuff like Sheena and Kivan *after* Aurora, since they both add new creatures. (And really if you're using Sheena, you should install Infinity Animations' main component after it or it will mess up your orogs since Sheena overwrites them with the half-dragon animation).

My advice is just use the BWP/BWP installer and deselect any mods you don't want, then start a new game. Maybe not what you want to hear if you're just trying to get through a game, but you'll have fewer problems and enjoy your game more if you follow the recommended order with the most recent versions. Plus, you can use the cutscene-skipping components in Aurora and Dungeon-Be-Gone to get right back into Athkatla without missing anything, if you don't want to sit through all the intial stuff yet again.

Wouldn't the DBG components screw with some other mods (Notably, RoT and TS)?

You probably should reinstall because other areas of your installation are jacked and you're so close to the beginning, but for a quickfix, go into NI and make a copy of Irenicus's first dungeon level. Rename it "aliya" and switch one of the Trans destinations of one of the teleporters in the box in the lower-right hand corner to "TELE0700". CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("aliya") and use the teleporter you rigged for yourself. It'll get you out of the dungeon.

Why would it? All it does is add an NPC to the dungeon who can get you out (and collect all the loot for you) but no one's forcing you to talk to him.

I'm no techno geek, unfortunately. But, I do know how to code. :D But, I fear that renaming the whole area level will screw the game completely. I've tried something similar back in 2009. But, since I don't use no NEJ-RoT and other mega mods (too much trouble and too many bugs), I just don't get it.

But I do use DBG, but even after talking to Baird, he teleports you to the end of second level... with a crash. Exiting myself through the portal also crashes.

Once, I installed Aurora skipping, but it froze with no player control after Imoen lets you out of the cage. - but, that's another story.

switch one of the Trans destinations of one of the teleporters in the box in the lower-right hand corner to "TELE0700".

This I don't understand. :(
