Hi, I made this account to see if I could get some sort of assistance. I have Planescape: Torment 4cd version and I downloaded the 1.1 patch and the game runs fine. I wanted to install the fixpack but it keeps hanging. I run it, hit 0 for English, hit n to not read the readme, and then hit y to install. It displays:
"Installing PS:T Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack by Qwinn
Copying 1 file ...
Copying and patching 1 file ..."
..and just sits there. It never finishes. I tried running it several times, I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I even tried letting it sit there for over an hour. Nothing ever happens. I did think that it was odd that when I went to install it the first time it ran this line of text at me:
"Removing old installation of PS:T Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack by Qwinn first ... ERROR: This Mod is too old or too new to uninstall that component for you. Upgrade to the newest versions of this mod and that one and try again. Failure TP2 not found! WARNING: unable to uninstall: Failure uninstallation error"
I downloaded the newest fixpack.. the only thing that I ran before that was the 1.1 patch. I just want to play PS:T with the fixpack. I don't want to play the stupid, old buggy 1.1 version. Does anyone have any solution to this problem? I am running Win ME on an older system but it runs PS:T just fine. If the fixpack isn't compatable with Win ME I'm just going to throw these CDs at the neighbor's kids.. Thanks for your time in reading and (hopefully) replying.

I have absolutely *no* idea. Anyone else have one? I've never seen or heard of that error message before.
The only thing I can suggest is, start from scratch... uninstall the game, delete the override directory (important), reinstall the game, then reapply patch 1.1 and retry installing my mod.
And don't worry, at this point you're probably better off waiting for Fixpack v4.1 anyway.
I doubt it has anything to do with being incompatible with ME.

God, it has been a long day...
I found out I probably won't be able to play Mechwarrior 4 online anymore after Mektek releases their 3.1 patch.. because they are releasing it through MTx which doesn't support Win ME.. I can't log into my Final Fantasy XI account for no apparent reason and support hasn't emailed me back.. and then this happened with Torment. BUT, there is one ray of sunshine today. Following Qwinn's advice to just uninstall and reinstall freakin' worked! I guess my retarded OS had a brain fart the first time I tried to install everything. Thanks for the advice that I should have tried in the first place.. but was too frustrated and stressed out to even think of. Everything works.. I've got it all patched up and modded with the fixpack and most tweaks and unfinished business and it runs perfectly.
I would also like to thank you for continued support and content for such an old game. Having a 450mhz processor and an antiquated OS leaves me with very few options in the gaming realm. Hopefully I'll find a job at some point this year and will be able to upgrade to a new PC, until then people like you are keeping me from eating my neighbor's barking dog raw with a wooden spoon.
