ok, I fix the repairs for the pregnant alley, watch the little cutscene, and switch to disc 3 when it asks. it then asks me to switch back to disc 2 and when I do, it does nothing. just sits at the please put in disc 2 screen. I'm patched to 1.1, full manual installation, and have all of Qwinns mods installed. this wouldn't be bothering me so much if I hadn't ran into it when I played torment for the first time and ran into this same problem and have since forgot the fix for it. I'm also bothered as to why I still have to change CD's after the manual install

You shouldn't have to switch to CD3, all it's required is to have CD2 inside (just for the CD-check) if you've done a full install. Maybe you've made some mistake with the paths while editing the torment.ini. There are a couple of different guides for a full PST install around the net. Look here for one of the most comprehensive.

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Torment
CD1:=C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Torment\CDALL
CD2:=C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Torment\CDALL
CD3:=C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Torment\CDALL
CD4:=C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Torment\CDALL
CD5:=C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Torment\CDALL
thats what my .ini file looks like. I do not have a no-CD crack installed. is this my problem? I can't play the game without putting in disc 2

I spotted this in the comments of the above link:
This is for the 2 CD version apparently. What version are you using ? 2CD, 4CD or the latest DVD version ?
I've heard reports of "insert disk" problems with the newer DVD version even if it's supposed to be the same as the 4CD version. If nothing else works, using a nocd could help you.
To all those with the "Insert Disk 2" errors, you need to make sure you copy the .cbf files over as well as the .bif files!

I'm using the old 4 CD version. and I've tried using the 3 different no-CD cracks on bootstrike. none of them work for me. the generic crack says it can't find the torment.exe file no matter how many times I lead it to it. platters says that MSVBVM50.DLL can't be found, and mofo's doesn't stay up in the dos window long enough for me to tell what the problem with it is
