It's difficult to think of any cons for Battlemage, eh? I mean, the pro being "other specializations are basically useless, so you can safely invest in this one".

So it would seem. The only benefit I ever got from Shapeshifter was the movement bonus from the Flying Swarm, and that's only useful as long as you don't have Haste.

I didn't really rate the shapeshifter, the flying swarm was annoying because I never had any mana left thanks to the lack of mana potions in the game.

The bear could be somewhat handy with the special abilities.  I'm looking forward to playing Ascension.
