Movies subtitles

I don't know if this has been commented before, but the subtitles from the SOA intro doesn't show when they should. I mean, before installing BGT that intro has subtitles when you activate the option "Display subtitles", but after installing BGT the video doesn't have subtitles even with that option activated.
Greetings.

If I remember right, yes, the intro is unskippable in BGI too, but come on, who plays BGT without playing BGI atleast once??
Cheers,

BG2 engine behaviour. If the movie isn't listed in the INI, you are forced to watch it the first time around.About the BGI intro, is it BGT that makes the intro unskippable the first time you start a BG game?? All subsequent BGI games' intros can be skipped by clicking/pressing a key, but the first time, you're (atleast I am ) forced to watch the pwning of the first Bhaalspawn

Well, the BWP Fixpack could make the movie already played by putting the movie "...=1", or does it already.Ah well

but come on, who plays BGT without playing BGI atleast once??
And another one here I just have BG Saga from a Christmas PC Games Magazine, thats why I never did. Well, yeh I have created few characters and went with one thru FAI, Beregost, Nashkel, Gnoll Stronghold.
But then I remembered Planescape Torment (oh my, I really want to play it again now, every time I hear/say this name, some really good memories comes to my mind and voice in the darkness whispers: "You must come back!") and its fixes/tweaks/widescreen mod and question came to my mind: While BG series are based on the same engine, is there something to make my BG Saga into BG Saga 2010? (playing 640x480 on a 24" widescreen isnt fun at all...) And so here I am.
So yes, Im another one who never played BG or BG2 (that much) and going to finish it with BGT first (I hope so!)

I'll say you made an awesome choice For first-time players, have a look at the BiG World Project's recommended install (it'll help ya get all of the fixes and then some without any added content )
Hi,
thank you for your tip. I have already seen this around and read something. But if Im correct, its just installer/downloader, based on your choosen installation mode? So practially same as if I install all these components individually? And based on this, I decided to download and install seperately, because of my VERY limited connection atm (as I said 32kbps EDGE, thats not fun!) and having to download windows installer + some mods I dont actually need/want only increses its size from this perspective, right?

Yes it is But you should know that some of toose mods (including the G3 BG2Fixpack) are kinda old and the BWP corrects errors/bugs in them Besides, if you download the BWS, you don't have to download all the mods it chooses for you (there are checkboxes that let you easily deselect mods you don't need ... or choose something extra that you want )I have already seen this around and read something. But if Im correct, its just installer/downloader, based on your choosen installation mode? So practially same as if I install all these components individually?
The BWS downloads the mods and the BWP. The BWP fixes the mods and installs them in the correct order
I know what you mean (ex-dialup user meself ), but the recommended installer totals at around ~50 MB ... 2 hours?? )And based on this, I decided to download and install seperately, because of my VERY limited connection atm (as I said 32kbps EDGE, thats not fun!)
Like I said, all of them are optional ... the only stuff you absolutely need are BG2Fixpack, BG1NPC project, BGT, BGTTweaks, BG2Tweaks, BG1UB, and UB (for BG2) - all of which are selectable (separately) in the BWS... and having to download windows installer + some mods I dont actually need/want only increses its size from this perspective, right?
Oh, btw, for manual installs ... be careful with install order! Good luck!

Aha, much more clear to me now And interesting. I think I will test it out, once I got some normal connection. For now, I have managed to get BGT running (with only G3 Fixpack, Tweakpack) and Im really happy with it, that's why I wasn't replying (I was playing )
But looking at the "you abolutely need" list you wrote I have missed BGTTweaks, as I thought this was included in the newest BGT itself. Don't know why. But can I install it now, when I already applied G3 Tweaks?
And for the BG1NPC Project, BG1 UB and BG2 UB - I believe they are really great, but for some reason, I want to play without them, for my first time. When I finish BG1, I will want to try them for sure!
Anyway, thank you for your help
Edit: forgot to add that 50 MBs would probably take way more time to download, as only these 13 MBs of BGT took me about 1h30-40m! It's unstable 32kbps EDGE, that's worse than dial-up (I had dial-up too, many years ago). Well, at least it's free and without data limits (why would they put limits there when it takes ages to download something you can normally get in few seconds

Awesome! If you have any strange stuff going on, please attach the file called WeiDU.log to your bug-report postFor now, I have managed to get BGT running (with only G3 Fixpack, Tweakpack) and Im really happy with it, that's why I wasn't replying (I was playing )
The tweaks contain just that ... tweaks Ya know, making BGI NPCs appear in BGII (for continuity and stuff Yeah, they can be installed after BG2Tweaks (I think )But looking at the "you abolutely need" list you wrote I have missed BGTTweaks, as I thought this was included in the newest BGT itself. Have you played BGII?? If you did, then without the BG1NPC project, things in the BGI portion of the game are gonna get booooooring ... and FAST!!And for the BG1NPC Project, BG1 UB and BG2 UB - I believe they are really great, but for some reason, I want to play without them, for my first time. Nope. I only hear so much about it for several years. Now as I said I got complete BG Saga from PC Games Magazine. That was my reason to first play it as intended (almost).
So far only D&D games I have played were PS:T and NWN2.
I have to admit dialogues in BG1 aren't very rich from my bits of experience (in compare to PS:T for example) but it still have it's magic and I enjoy playing it.
When Im done with BG1 and BG2, I will experiement with content additions (UB, NPCs, maybe AI/difficulty mods) so I can actually compare it to original version experience.
