Well, I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed this second runthrough as much as the first one, if not more so, because I took a lot more of the 'neutral' replies which sparked unexpected responses from some of the NPCs in the party. It might yet get a third playthrough! I really hope Bioware are considering a sequel - I'd be on the wannabuyit list immediately.

If anyone's interested in another run themselves I'm quite happy to upload my reskins here somewhere. In the end I did Radiant Jen Li, Dawn Star (screenies in my other JE thread), Sagacious Zu (brown clothing reshaded to green) and Silk Fox (a mild re-shading to match the midnight blue and black of the intro screens).

From what I've read in several interviews is that many BioWarians would love to revisit Jade Empire (see here for example), but it's unlikely to happen anytime soon since they have more profitable franchises (DA, ME) in their hands right now.

I picked this game up in the Steam sale, instaled it, saw I couldn't really customise my character's look and then uninstalled it because I'm a prissy little bitch like that.
Is it actually worth playing, though? I have a minor fetish for ancient Chinese mythology, so if it's full of Quilins and Dragons and Phoenixs and crazy things like that I think I could enjoy it despite the bland-looking character models.
The worst person ever.

Yeah, it's worth playing if you've any interest for BioWare games in general - they don't disappoint in Jade Empire.

I think it's worth a spin. I've only played it once, but I found it a satisfying game. There were a few twists in the storytelling which I didn't expect, the gameplay is pretty intuitive, and I really liked the Sky romance. Not a extraordinary game like BG2 or PS:T, but certainly something to give a try. If I remember correctly, there are three available "looks" for your character, for each gender. You're bound to find one out of the three that you don't completely hate, yes? ;) (I took Wu the Lotus Blossum, purple's pretty! ^_^)

It's also worth checking out K'aeloree's Jade Empire PC Modlist.

Hmm yes, I didn't identify with any of the female characters so used the guy with the cool dragon tattoo and had a gay romance with Sky. He was fun, I'll agree.
